Doug breaks the bed, so he and Carrie are forced to go shopping for a new one. They find one they both like, but it isn't in stock and has to be ordered. In the meantime, Deacon offers to give them his kid's twin beds so they at least have something to sleep on. It turns out Doug and Carrie love having the separate beds because they are getting the best rest of their lives by sleeping separately. The separate beds leads to them doing all the other things in life separately - going to separate movies, separate restaurants, etc.

He is enjoying his fresh air and daylight when he learns that his neighbor, Lou Ferrigno, is the neighborhood gossip. Arthur makes it his mission not to do anything that would cause Lou to gossip about him.
