Identity

Identity is a 2003 whodunit-style horror film directed by James Mangold from a screenplay written by Michael Cooney. The film stars John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Amanda Peet, Alfred Molina, Clea DuVall and Rebecca De Mornay.

When two young girls are in a tragic car accident, one is left in critical condition and the other is found dead at the scene. As Megan and her team investigate the case, however, they realize there has been an awful mistake. Not only was the wrong girl pronounced dead, but the car accident may not have been the actual cause of death.

Michael's mother asks him to help one of her friends, a retiree who was scammed out of her life savings by a group of con artists led by a man named Quinten (Mark Pellegrino). After working his way into the con artist group and causing dissension among the ranks, Michael is able to convince Quinten to give him the information to access the stolen accounts, allowing him to return all of the money. Afterward, with the government watching even his family and friends, Michael calls them only to receive instructions to continue in his new job.

Complications ensue in the investigation of a Stone Cold Assassins gangbanger who fell off a building after the victim that he tried to rape bit him in self-defense, causing him to fall. The victim's twin sister admits to the crime, and says she was the one on the roof and was almost raped, which is seemingly impossible due to the evidence until the secrets regarding the sister's true genetic identity are revealed. They find that she was born a boy, and after a botched circumcision was raised female. Investigation reveals more regarding the doctor's ulterior motive to prove that nurture supersedes nature.

Having successfully recovered from his near-fatal shooting, Callen rejoins the OSP team whose headquarters has since moved to new surroundings. His first case back involves a Naval Commander who was kidnapped by a drug cartel and eventually killed in a shootout between the cartel and members of the LAPD. The team soon discover that the Commander's actions might have jeopardized a highly-classified military operation against the various drug cartels in Mexico and also put the life of his young niece in great danger.

Ryan's stubborn refusal to take Wilfred's simple advice into consideration on a sensitive matter leads to the rapid development of a massive problem that goes on to not only affect himself but his wise and furry companion as well.
