Thanksgiving

Henry's heart attack on Thanksgiving eve leaves the family contemplating a future without him. While Danny and Jackie look into a suicide that may not be what it seems, Frank and the mayor disagree about a threat to the city.

Amy hosts an unsuccessful Thanksgiving dinner at her apartment for everyone at the precinct. Jake and Holt leave Amy's dinner to catch a perp who stole money out of the evidence locker.

Lois cooks a big Thanksgiving dinner, and Kevin Swanson, originally presumed to be dead in Iraq, suddenly returns.

New Directions prepare for and perform at Sectionals, helped by some of the glee club's graduates, who are home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Rachel and Kurt celebrate Thanksgiving in New York.

Reese displays monomania and culinary genius while making Thanksgiving dinner. Francis and Piama get into a fight and nearly divorce until Lois steps in. Malcolm goes out to a party, where he spends half the time trying to figure out if a girl is flirting with him. They get drunk and almost have sex, Malcolm runs home and tells Francis that he is a coward, until Francis gives him some good advice.

As Dev's family does not celebrate Thanksgiving, he has spent it with Denise's family for years, the two being childhood friends. When they are twelve in 1995, Denise begins to realize she is attracted to women. On Thanksgiving 1999, she comes out to Dev. When he asks why she is nervous to tell her family, she says LGBT issues are touchy in black families. In 2006, Denise comes out to her mother Catherine (Angela Bassett). Catherine asks her sister Joyce if this is her fault. On Thanksgiving 2015, Denise brings her girlfriend Michelle. Denise and Joyce are obviously annoyed, and attempt to hide the fact that Denise is gay from her grandma, Ernestine. The next year, Denise brings home a slutty girl named Nikki. After dinner, Dev talks with Catherine and Joyce. Catherine admits that while she is homophobic, she does wish for Denise to end up with a nice woman, and misses Michelle. Finally, on Thanksgiving in 2017, Denise gets back together with Michelle. Joyce and Ernestine Are happy to see her. Michelle and Catherine talk alone, and Catherine admits to Denise she is happy the two of them are together. Denise, Catherine, Joyce, Ernestine, Dev, and Michelle have a wonderful dinner, and happily say grace together.

Jess invites Paul (Justin Long), a fellow teacher, whom she has a crush on for Thanksgiving dinner at the apartment.

Laurie brings her friend Kate home with her for Thanksgiving. Red's mother, Bernice, constantly calls, asking about Thanksgiving dinner, much to Kitty's annoyance. Donna is angry when she finds out Kate kissed Eric and Red is reluctant to accept a job offer from Bob.

Vanessa's teacher urges her to become a vegetarian.

Ruxin's father (Jeff Goldblum) shows up unexpectedly for Thanksgiving. Andre's sister (Sarah Silverman) is on the prowl at the gang's Thanksgiving dinner. Taco makes an edible investment, while Kevin and Jenny have a problem with Ellie's class pet.

Frankie's dream of an idyllic family Thanksgiving is thwarted when Mr. Ehlert forces the staff to work on the holiday. Meanwhile, Frankie and Mike approve of a clueless Sue's first boyfriend (who turns out to be a safe choice); and a panicked Axl loses Brick in a corn maze.
