Danny and Kate investigate a murdered college student who was dealing drugs on campus, which forces them to work with aggressive narcotics detective Eddie Stone. Jamie reconnects with a former college acquaintance who is helping the homeless. They meet again when Jamie comes to her aid when she is badly beaten up on the street. Later, he walks out on their dinner-date when she suggests he joined the police force to avenge the death of his brother, Joe. Meanwhile, Erin forbids Nicki from going to a college party with a 19-year old male, and gets angry when Frank won't openly back up her stance in front of Nicki.

Nancy hires a college student named Sanjay to tutor Silas and decides to expand her customer base to other college students, but makes an enemy in the process. Celia goes into surgery for her breast cancer and receives an unwanted visit from her mother. Andy pursues the mother of one of Shane's new friends.
