At dinner when Spence introduces his mother to his girlfriend, his mother embarrasses Spence by telling Denise stories about him from his younger years. She tells Denise about a time when she told Spence he could watch 'Three's Company' as long as he kept his hands where she could see them.
Doug and Carrie go to Florida to visit Doug’s parents. While they are there, it comes to light that Rocky, Doug's childhood dog, isn't the original Rocky after all. In fact, Rocky is the third "replacement" dog. While there, Doug learns many more bits of truth about his life that he is not prepared to handle. Meanwhile, back in Queens, Spence wants to introduce his new girlfriend, Denise, to his mother. He is worried that the two won't get along, so he asks for Arthur's help to join them for dinner and make sure things go smoothly. Unfortunately, Arthur makes things worse and ends up ruining the dinner, and possibly Spence's relationship with Denise.
