My Name Is Earl

While trying to buy a new car, Jimmy is told by the dealership salesman that he has the worst credit rating he's ever seen. Jimmy discovers his parents bought a bunch of expensive items on credit (in his name) when he was a child, and never paid, and that this is the reason they pay cash for everything now. Feeling bad, Virginia and Burt give their car to Jimmy, then purchase a used DeLorean sports car. Jimmy and his parents then go to extreme lengths to convince the original credit officer (Christopher Lloyd) to erase Jimmy's credit history.

After his post-Medellin difficulties, Vince is on the fast track once again, as he prepares for a driving test as well as an appearance with Jay Leno to promote his new movie Gatsby, directed by Martin Scorsese. Meanwhile, Sloan presents Eric with the idea of getting his own place, but worries about how it will affect his friends. Lloyd threatens to quit if Ari doesn't promote him, so Ari counters with a proposition of his own.

When a seemingly innocent guy's night out takes a sudden turn, Peter, Joe, Brian, and Quagmire wake up in a hospital and discover that their memories have been erased and Quahog has been deserted.

When Burt starts gambling again to try and win back the items he lost 20 years ago, Jimmy and Virginia get addicted to gambling themselves, which causes them to forget about Shelley's play that Sabrina wrote and Hope stars in.

The episode is shown as a "mockumentary" as Nancy Grace investigates Hope's serial killer mother, Lucy Carlisle (Bijou Phillips), and what happened when Jimmy met Lucy years ago. The Chance family learns some shocking things about Lucy. Greyson Chance returns as teenage Jimmy.

In this 'It's a Wonderful Life' themed episode, Jimmy is transported into a cinematic dreamlike state and watches on at a world where he never met Lucy. When he returns to reality he realizes that if Hope had never been born, his life wouldn't be as good. Meanwhile, Virginia, Burt and Maw Maw see a movie that bares a striking resemblance to their day-to-day lives.

Jimmy's plans to throw a spectacular birthday party for Hope go awry, but Burt brings in his old bandmate Smokey Floyd (Jason Lee) and a slew of odd Natesville residents (played by former My Name Is Earl cast members Ethan Suplee, Jaime Pressley, Eddie Steeples, Nadine Velazquez and Timothy Stack) to save the event.

The Chances and Sabrina try to sneak out Maw Maw from the nursing home, but Virgina realizes that Maw Maw is being cared for well in the home and leaves. Later Maw Maw takes some cats hostage and Chances help. Maw Maw is sent home.

Hope has been recruited into the Yo Zappa Do! taping, as well as a reluctant Jimmy, but Trevor makes sure that Jimmy never gets too comfortable on the set. Burt proposes a new landscaping idea to the studio head (Brian Doyle-Murray). Meanwhile, Maw Maw enlists Barney in her scheme to track down the woman who had an affair with her late husband. Finding that the woman passed away, Maw Maw then tries to get even by sleeping with her still-alive husband. While charged with keeping the couple's granddaughter out of the way, Barney falls for her despite her odd physical trait.
