When Arnold's grandpa dies a week after Dev and Arnold visited him, Dev reevaluates his relationship with his own grandparents and Rachel feels guilty for not visiting her own grandmother more often. Dev and Rachel visit her grandmother (Lynn Cohen), but Rachel is summoned to a work emergency and Dev stays with her grandma. The two get along and he sneaks her out of her retirement home to enjoy a fancy dinner, but she escapes when he isn't looking. He and Rachel search for her, and finally find her singing at a popular jazz club.

When the Griffins are selected to have their television viewing habits monitored, Peter attempts to take over television airwaves.

Frankie invites a couple of Marine's to celebrate Thanksgiving with them but her parents' constant bickering puts a damper on the festivities. As Axl finds himself falling for his tutor, he finds out his foot is healed and he can play in the big game. Sue looks for the person who stole the chicken head off of her school mascot uniform while Brick is totally absorbed by a book describing how "Love Story" was filmed.

In honor of the death of her grandmother, Gloria decides to cook traditional Colombian meals, which is met with some insulting from Jay, but guess who gets the last laugh. Meanwhile Claire becomes an overbearing mom when she finds out Alex likes a boy, and Haley's idea of sisterly advice is not helping while Mitchell and Cameron have a tiff over Mitchell's freakish aversion to Public Display of Affection

Ann throws Leslie a bachelorette party that gets interrupted by Councilman Jamm and leads to the return of Ken Hotate, while Chris has a bachelor's party for Ben that turns into a celebration of the parties that Tom, Andy, Ron and even Jerry never got to have

Brian ends up alone on Valentine's Day, so Stewie rounds up all of Brian's ex-girlfriends to find out why he is so unsuccessful in love. The women, of course, have a good time pointing out all of Brian's flaws. Meanwhile, Peter and Lois engage in couple swinging for the night and Peter ends up severely beaten.
