Kelly and Kalakaua join HPD in a car chase, which ends with the car crashing and killing the driver. Five-0 find a severed head in a cardbox box. After finding out the driver's family are illegal immigrants from China, McGarrett tries to clear him, but Williams does not resort to the same courtesy. The team find the identity of the man as a cancer patient under Kelly's former fiancee Malia (Reiko Aylesworth). Later, they discover the victim's wife is missing. The woman's father, a business, is given a call to deliver five million dollars to a specified location in exchange for his daughter's safety. Things go awry when McGarrett and Williams kill the suspect who takes the money. However, it is later determined the wife was part of the plan to use the money and runaway with the suspect to Paris; Five-0 arrests her. In the end McGarrett informs the driver's father (Tzi Ma) that Governer Jameson has fastracked his family for American citizenship.

Peter knocks out Quahog's cable transmitter while driving Meg home. Distraught, Peter resolves to steal the transmitter so he can have television in his house and convinces Meg to take the blame for the outage. The device is stolen by Stewie, who intends to use it to control the weather. Peter attaches a cardboard cutout in front of his face to pretend that the world is a television program. Meg, tired of public scorn, reveals the truth behind the cable outage; the citizens of Quahog threaten Peter with violence, but he is saved by Lois. Peter takes his family on recreational outings, but the family grows tired of the constant physical activity, prompting Peter to go on the outings with William Shatner. After the weather machine creates a huge rainstorm, Meg and Lois drive around searching for Peter, and Meg runs over Shatner and Peter; Peter is hospitalized. Peter watches television while he recovers, and becomes addicted to it once again.

Jack is having a perfect day and succeeding at every task. He tries to channel his winning streak into helping Liz figure out her relationship with Carol. Meanwhile, Jenna and Kenneth enlist the help of Kelsey Grammer to pull off an ice cream scam. Elsewhere, Tracy is trying to shoot a commercial for the Boys and Girls Club.
