Bewitched

Around Christmas, Lane is instructed by his London attorney to wire $8,000 to England within two days for back taxes, or else he risks being arrested. Lane, in fear, forges a check from Don. Harry meets with Paul Kinsey, who has joined the Hare Krishnas and has written a terrible spec script for the series Star Trek. Harry later pays for a trip for Paul to Los Angeles so Paul can try to break into script writing. Joan is served divorce papers, and after an outburst to the office receptionist, she and Don go to a bar for a drink and have an intimate chat. Meanwhile, Pete reveals that Jaguar is again looking for an advertising firm, and that presentations will start in mid-January.

Carrie goes out with a few of the girls from the office, and comes home feeling depressed, feeling like she has wasted her life. She decides to do something about it, and goes back to college. Doug is supportive at first, but begins to feel neglected as Carrie gets busy with homework and her new classmates. Doug's sister, Stephanie, suggests that Doug might just be worried that Carrie will no longer need him once she decided to go back to school,

Peter knocks out Quahog's cable transmitter while driving Meg home. Distraught, Peter resolves to steal the transmitter so he can have television in his house and convinces Meg to take the blame for the outage. The device is stolen by Stewie, who intends to use it to control the weather. Peter attaches a cardboard cutout in front of his face to pretend that the world is a television program. Meg, tired of public scorn, reveals the truth behind the cable outage; the citizens of Quahog threaten Peter with violence, but he is saved by Lois. Peter takes his family on recreational outings, but the family grows tired of the constant physical activity, prompting Peter to go on the outings with William Shatner. After the weather machine creates a huge rainstorm, Meg and Lois drive around searching for Peter, and Meg runs over Shatner and Peter; Peter is hospitalized. Peter watches television while he recovers, and becomes addicted to it once again.

Stan tells Don he is offering to relocate to California to support Sunkist and build a west coast presence for the agency "one desk at a time." The agency receives an RFP from Hershey's Chocolate and Jim assigns Don to make a pitch. Don tells Megan he wants to move to California after spending a night in jail and suggests she could pursue her acting career there. Pete receives a telegram saying that his mother has fallen from a cruise ship and is lost at sea, and later finds out she married nanny Manolo, whom Pete blames for pushing her off. Ted comes to Peggy's apartment and says that he wants to leave his wife and be with her. Ted later reconsiders and decides he wants to move to California with his family, ostensibly to manage Sunkist but also to distance himself from his feelings for Peggy. Ted asks Don to approve the arrangement but is rejected. Don then makes a brilliant pitch to Hershey executives, but as they prepare to leave, Don reveals his real childhood to the room and tells Hershey's they don't need an ad campaign. He then decides to give Ted the Sunkist account. Ted informs Peggy and Don informs Megan of the Sunkist news, which infuriates both women. The partners have a meeting in the morning of Thanksgiving and tell Don that his unpredictable behavior has forced them to insist that he take a mandatory leave of absence of at least a few months, with Peggy filling in for Don due to Ted's impending move to Los Angeles. Pete visits Trudy on Thanksgiving before catching a flight to Los Angeles, where he is moving. Joan invites Roger over for Thanksgiving dinner, but to be in Kevin's life and not hers. Following the partner's meeting, Don picks up his children and shows them the now-dilapidated brothel he grew up in.

Steve tries to cheer up Snot after Hayley rejects him -- and is shocked when Roger poses as a teenage girl named Jenny Fromdabloc and begins dating Snot. Meanwhile, Stan tries to live like a man of the 1960s by making Francine serve him martinis after work, despite that Stan can't hold his liquor.

The episode focuses on Liz Lemon's escapade with her idol, Rosemary Howard; Tracy Jordan's family problems; and Jenna Maroney's attempt to replace Kenneth Parcell's burnt page jacket.

When Betty sees a doctor to try to get a prescription for diet pills, he discovers a nodule on her thyroid. Although the nodule is later discovered to be benign, in the meantime Betty dwells on her mortality. Harry and Don go backstage at a Rolling Stones concert after a Heinz executive suggests trying to get the band to record a jingle for their ad campaign. Pete signs Mohawk Airlines as a client and gives the account to Roger. Roger asks Peggy to hire a new copywriter for Mohawk, so she interviews Michael Ginsberg. Don gives his OK.

Peggy and Megan are up for an advertising award for Heinz Beans, though neither works for SCDP anymore and Heinz is no longer client. Paul Newman is addressing the ceremony when someone shouts out that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has been assassinated. Work shuts down at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce in order to deal with the news, and regularly scheduled television programming has been temporarily replaced by news reports about the assassination and resulting riots. Don Draper takes Bobby to see Planet of the Apes.

This commercial begins with Kelly Ripa (from Regis and Kelly) carrying two laundry baskets and happily declaring that it is 'laundry day'. Her three daughters begin throwing their dirty clothes toward her as she catches them all in the baskets. When she goes the the laundry room with her new Electrolux washers, the clothes magically fly into the washing machine while the family dog closes the door to start washing the clothing. When everything is clean, she just tosses the clothes into the air, and the magically land properly folded into her daughter's dresser drawers. Later she pulls a dress out of the dryer and swings it in front of the camera and is suddenly wearing it (without needing to iron it). Her husband gets in on the action by flipping a table cloth onto the dinning room table causing a full table settings to appear (plates, glasses, silverware, candles, etc.). She and her husband think they are 'alone at last', but the kids and dog are peaking around the corner. "Laundry day!" The series stars Lisa Hartman as Tabitha Stephens, the daughter of Samantha and Darrin, now a young woman in Los Angeles working in television, while learning how to use and control her witchcraft powers. Helping her along (or hindering her) is her now-older and mortal brother Adam and previously-unmentioned Aunt Minerva, while Robert Urich appeared as her love interest.
