After a set, Louie is greeted by Eddie Mack, a fellow comedian who started his career the same time as Louie but has never found much success and lives in his broken-down car. He and Eddie catch up after not seeing each other for 20 years by going to the liquor store and then an open mic where Eddie does a very funny routine under the stage name "Shitty Fat Tits" before Eddie confesses his plans to end his own life, leaving Louie to ponder how (or if) to dissuade him.

Tim is ecstatic when his ex-girlfriend Sarah decides she wants him back; Daisy is less so, causing much tension around the flat. Mike has an interview at the Territorial Army to determine whether he should be allowed back in following the 'Eurodisney Incident'. Following a heated argument, Daisy finally manages to bash out a few articles, and Tim finally realizes the right path for him. And Brian summons the courage to ask Twist out on a date which, against all expectations, actually goes quite well.

Larry is changed by a trip to Arizona, to Richard Lewis' profound relief. Larry also finds out the truth of whether he is adopted. Larry dies and goes to heaven until he is re-animated.

In the series finale, Vince delivers big news after spending a night with Sophia. Ari makes one final attempt to save his marriage, and when it dawns on him what his mistakes were, he quits the agency. Drama and Turtle do their best to get Sloan to reconcile with Eric, as Vince makes an effort of his own with Terrance. In the end, Vince, Sophia, Turtle, Drama, Ari, and Melissa fly off to Paris for Vince's wedding while E and Sloan fly off together. In a final post-credits scene, Ari is in Italy with his wife when he receives a call from John Ellis (Alan Dale), the CEO of Time Warner. He tells Ari he's retiring and that he wants him as his successor. The episode ends with Ari pondering the offer.

Grace and Frankie are stunned when their husbands inform them that they want divorces. They're even more stunned when they find out why.

Jack and the Man in Black use Desmond to temporarily extinguish the light at the heart of the island. The Man in Black makes himself mortal again and almost kills Jack but Jack and Kate kill him first. Realizing his destiny, Jack sacrifices himself to relight the heart of the island, so his friends can escape on the Ajira plane. Hurley takes Jack's place as protector of the island and makes Ben the new advisor. The flash sideways is revealed to be a type of limbo, or holding pattern, for the main characters, where they reside until accepting their life and death, and are then able to "let go" and "move on" together.
