Mike and Ethan learn that Adam has been hanging onto "CJ," a stuffed animal he won for Callie at a carnival when they were first dating - and a sort of "go-to" move that Adam has used in the past to win over the ladies. When the guys get rid of CJ, Callie becomes noticeably upset over the missing toy, so Adam tries to win a replica to replace Callie's before she figures out what happened to it. Meanwhile, Lisa's company hosts a charity tennis tournament, and she teams up with Ethan's former flame to form the "Smash Sisters." But their plans for intimidation on the court take a turn when Ethan reunites with his ex-girlfriend.

Devon Banks (Will Arnett) returns to NBC, but Jack is preoccupied with meddling in Liz's personal life by giving Criss (James Marsden) an ultimatum. Meanwhile, Tracy defends idiots everywhere by leading a protest.

Peter retells the story of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Dave's father, "Big" Dave (Michael McKean), comes to town to introduce his new girlfriend, who shockingly happens to be Penny's mother, Dana (Megan Mullally). Penny couldn't be more thrilled that her thrice divorced mother has a new man in her life, but Dave on the other hand reacts childishly to the news. Meanwhile Alex, who is feeling lonely at the shop, decides to adopt an adorable parrot that turns out to be not so charming, spewing nonstop racist and homophobic rhetoric. And Alex enlists Brad and Max's help, as she is convinced the Chinese restaurant next door is a front for a brothel.

After TGS goes on a forced hiatus, everyone, except Liz, thinks the words "forced hiatus" means that the show will be cancelled. So everyone, except Liz, gets to work on their Plan B for employment.

Jan berates Michael when she discovers that he calls the entire office into the conference room every Monday to watch a movie. Angela prods Dwight to ask Jan to give him Michael's job. After the awkward meeting with Dwight, Jan calls Michael and demands he get his branch under control. The Stamford branch plays Call of Duty under the guise of a team-building exercise. New to the game, Jim's play is poor and he draws the ire of his teammates. As he leaves for home, Jim pretends to toss a grenade at Karen, who responds by creating a pretend explosion with paper clips. Karen longingly watches Jim leave. Kelly insists that Pam perform a lunchtime fashion show to show off a new sweater. When it draws unwanted attention, Pam concludes that it is too revealing. Michael leads Dwight to believe that he has been given control of the branch before revealing the ruse. Dwight begs for his job and for Michael's forgiveness, offering to do his laundry for a year. When it appears that Michael is on the verge of firing Dwight, he makes reference to Entourage and insists that they "hug it out, bitch." Dwight quickly returns to being Michael's loyal right-hand man, but Michael, still harboring resentment, forces him to stand atop a box with a "LIAR" sign dangling from his neck.

Krusty the Clown is in a rut when his show gets cancelled and his talent agency dumps him, so the Simpsons introduce him to seasoned agent Annie (voiced by Joan Rivers), who turns out to be Krusty's first agent from many years ago.

Leslie's plan to bury a time capsule depicting life in modern-day Pawnee is derailed when a local man makes an unusual request and throws the project into chaos. Andy goes to Ron for advice on winning back April.

When Peter decides to become a famous actor, he becomes Tom Tucker's agent as his first step toward stardom. Meanwhile, Chris dates a girl who looks disturbingly like a member of the Griffin household.

In this episode, the whole Office participates in a company-wide weight loss contest. Pam goes to New York City for art school, causing her and Jim to have to adjust to being temporarily apart. Also, awkward tension is created between Michael and Holly after she accepts a date with another man, and Angela and Dwight continue their secret relationship, Angela's upcoming marriage to Andy notwithstanding. The episode was voted the second best episode of the season in a poll at the fan site OfficeTally.

Barney's wedding gift to Jimmy and Sabrina is plane tickets for the family to fly to Los Angeles for a taping of Hope's favorite TV show, Yo Zappa Do! But Jimmy's fear of flying turns it into a road trip. The show's star, Trevor, turns out to be a former, albeit young, adversary of Jimmy's. Meanwhile, Ricardo (Wilmer Valderrama) is back as Burt's and Virginia's house guest, and he does all he can to make the living arrangement more permanent. To be continued...

The film picks up where the series left off, chronicling the continuing career of movie star Vincent Chase and his entourage of friends. Ari bankrolls Vince's directorial debut with a $100 million budget which goes $15 million over. He does this by securing financing from a Texas billionaire Larsen McCredle and his son Travis. Vince continues his carefree lifestyle saying if the film fails they can just move back to Queens. Now with his own studio Ari deals with the problems of being a start up movie producer in his own ill tempered way.
