Ted is confronted by a beautiful girl named Zoey who's upset about the landmark to be torn down to make way for the new GNB headquarters he's designing.

Alex releases slogan t-shirts for babies but they become popular with the teenage girl crowd, who make her shop their newest hangout. Meanwhile, Jane searches for the now 11-year-old girl she thinks is the result of the egg she donated.

Cleveland looks for a job, first trying to be a grizzled police officer two days from retirement and also as a singing salesman at the Stoolbend Flea Market. Tim helps him get a job at Waterman Cable as a phone solicitor. Cleveland runs into an old high-school friend, Terry Kimple who is working as a cable installer for Waterman. When they were in school, Terry took the rap when they were busted for drugs. When Cleveland excels as a salesman, causing business to dry up for Tim, Tim prays for bad things to happen to Cleveland.

Promoting a new book she has written, Leslie falls victim to some less-than-professional journalism.

Kelly invites the entire staff to a celebration of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Michael mistakenly believes it to be an Indian version of Halloween. In Stamford, Jim decides to bicycle to work. Andy turns a late night of paperwork into an excuse to drink. Karen, unbeknownst to Jim and Andy, pours her shots into her wastebasket. Ryan fails to make a favorable impression on Kelly's parents, who in turn try to set up Kelly with a young doctor. Initially reluctant to attend the festival, Pam gives in and ends up enjoying herself. Inspired by a conversation with Kelly's parents about Hindu marriage customs, Michael publicly proposes to Carol. Uncomfortable, Carol declines his offer and leaves the room. She later explains that this is only their ninth date, and drives home, leaving Michael to find a ride. Pam sends a text message to Jim, who does not answer because he is passed out on his desk. At the end of the evening, Michael mistakenly thinks that he and Pam have a connection, and is rejected when he tries to kiss her. She gives him a ride home on the condition that he sit in the back seat. Jim tries to ride his bike home but is too drunk. An amused Karen gives Jim a ride.

Dwight installs a Doomsday device that will fire employees if they make too many mistakes in order to help efficiency.

Pam is embarrassed when she is the only person at corporate wearing a costume on Halloween. Pam's intended costume is Charlie Chaplin, since her mustache was applied with grease paint, she shows annoyance that she cannot remove her hat, since she then resembles Adolf Hitler. In Scranton, Stanley wears a Creature from the Black Lagoon mask in order to sleep at work and not get caught while Creed, Kevin and Dwight dress up as Heath Ledger's version of the Joker from The Dark Knight. Kelly dresses up as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, and Ryan tries to woo her. Ryan dresses as Gordon Gekko from the film Wall Street, which Kelly associates with the GEICO gecko. Oscar dresses up like Uncle Sam, Meredith is a cheerleader, Phyllis is Raggedy Ann, and Andy is a cat from the Broadway show Cats. Angela is in the same kitten outfit as she was in "Halloween". Jim's outfit is minimalist as usual, dressing up as a guy named "Dave" (a costume consisting of his normal attire, with a name tag).

In trying to get back at Supreme Allah and save Redding, Hill concocts a plan to rid Oz of Supreme Allah. Morales survives a hit on him. Cloutier is forced to resign as minister, and loses his support with his followers, only to try and gain their respect, he offers to help them in their work but ends up bricked behind a wall. Hughes tries to rally the inmates in Solitary to rise up but an attempt to kill Glynn costs Hughes his own life. McManus and Murphy lose the final game to Vayhue and Busmalis and after failing to help White, he starts to wonder if he and Glynn are both capable of running Oz. Schillinger learns of Beecher's parole and vows to stop him from going free, while Beecher dreams of what it would feel like to be free; with his parole denied and Schillinger happy about interacting some more, Said feels the spirit of Adebisi take down Schillinger and Robson. Connelly's plan of blowing up Em City is almost in effect until O'Reilly has a change of heart, the bomb turns out to be a dud, but Oz is still left with a big bang.

Hank becomes interested in Becca's teacher. Charlie discovers that Marcy has been hiding a secret.

Jack must appear before Congress to discuss NBC's merger with KableTown. He hopes that he will charm celebrity members, but one Congresswoman demands more diversity in its programming lineup. Jack quickly enlists Tracy to come up with some new development ideas. Meanwhile, Liz is fed up with the criticism her writing staff gives her, and finally Jenna helps Kenneth reapply in the competitive page program.

Carrie's boss, Mr. Kaplan, asks her to keep an eye on his son Trevor who he's bringing to the office. Carrie, who sees this as an opportunity to make a good impression with her boss, eagerly agrees. The problem arises when Trevor squeezes Carrie's breast - leaving her unsure of how to react because he's the boss' son. Meanwhile, Doug and his buddies are preparing for a bowling tournament. He makes an effort to be extra nice to Denise, the new shoe-rental girl, who Deacon, Spence and Danny have been teasing and making fun of because they think she's ugly. Denise mistakes Doug's friendliness for affection, and begins to pretend that her brother is her boyfriend so Doug will understand that she is not interested. Doug becomes irritated, and insists that his congeniality was really only a "mercy flirt".

Jealous of Lisa and Maggie's sisterly bond, Bart goes looking for a surrogate baby brother to call his own.

When Donna isn't thrilled by marred life, Cleveland reveals that he and Donna haven't yet taken their honeymoon. When soliciting ideas from the gang, Coach McFall reveals his former fling with Tyne Daly in New York City. Inspired, Cleveland takes Donna on a road trip to the Big Apple, and to Donna's dismay, Cleveland allows the Stoolbend gang to tag along while the kids are left with Terry. The next morning, Donna and Cleveland try to enjoy their time while the rest of the gang wander off but they soon get into trouble, requiring Cleveland come to the rescue and break off his day with Donna. Cleveland tries to make it up by taking Donna to a Broadway show but its a cover for helping Coach McFall reunite with Tyne Daly. When Coach McFall actually meets Tyne Daly, they find his breakup wasn't exactly under pleasant circumstances. Frustrated with being neglected by Cleveland, she leaves and returns to the hotel bar.

The staff has its first Red Team meeting about Operation Genoa. Charlie Skinner says the story is not ready to air. The team finds another source for the Genoa story, former USMC Gen. Stomtonovich (Stephen Root). Charlie and Mac go to Maryland to meet with him and he agrees to be interviewed. Jerry conducts the interview alone after Gen. Stomotonovich asks Maggie to leave the room due, as he was not told in advance she would be present and has not had her checked out. Gen. Stomtonovich affirms the existence of sarin gas and his belief that its use may sometimes be justified, but does not say that it was used during Operation Genoa. On his return, Jerry edits the raw footage of the interview so that it appears the General said that sarin gas was used during the operation. After the interview, the staff holds a second Red Team meeting, where Charlie Skinner says the story still isn't ready to air. Hallie arranges a double date for her and Jim with her friend and Neal. To Jim's dismay Taylor Warren, the Romney campaign spokesperson, tags along. Warren later reveals that she was recently fired. Will is concerned about his likability with the audience, has a focus group done, and at Nina Howard's urging, attempts to change his public image. Several months later, ACN gets a call from a Lance Corporal, thought to be dead, who was a member of the MARSOC team on Operation Genoa. Later, Charlie recounts his recollection of events to Rebecca Halliday and reveals that the story about Operation Genoa was not true. Takes place between March 21 and August 25, 2012.

Johnny has something to tell Tommy, who's distracted by fears for his future after visiting his seriously burned buddy Stack in the hospital. Tommy's also worried about the future of Ladder 62 in light of developments concerning Lou, Mike and Franco. Meanwhile, Sheila has a proposition for Tommy; Franco fears that his new girlfriend, Natalie, is keeping something from him; and Sean has a request of John Gavin Sr..

Hannah's parents cut her off and she loses her internship. Jessa returns to town and moves in with her cousin, Shoshanna. Hannah and Marnie throw Jessa a dinner party that ends with Hannah drinking opium tea and showing up at her parents' hotel room high.

Comedian Maria Bamford returns to L.A. after a stint in a psych ward in Duluth. Not wanting her life to fall into the same rut that caused her breakdown, she decides to take things slow and put a bench outside her home to create community. But things go awry when her manager books her for a charity event starring her nemesis, Mark McGrath.

When Murray gets a girlfriend named Hazel, Rallo discovers she is after Murray's money and tries to save him from making a costly mistake. Donna signs Cleveland up for the gym but instead of working out, he takes a lazy short-cut to achieve results.

After finding a box of condoms in Tessa's room, George wants to keep Tessa in the house as much as possible so he plans a family game night with Tessa's friends. Tessa begins to gloat to Dalia about how Scott chose to be with her, but the more time she spends with Scott the less attraction she has for him. Dallas finally learns that Steven has been unfaithful to her.

Homer uses high-tech eyeglasses given by Mr. Burns to spy on Marge and learns that she is seeing a marriage counselor.

After Brian decides he does not want to be around Stewie anymore, Stewie tries to save their friendship by impregnating himself with Brian's DNA. Meanwhile, Peter, Joe, Quagmire, and Cleveland attempt to make a viral internet video.

Liz looks to disprove Tracy's contention that women can't be funny, while Jack takes a radical new approach to dating.

Liz and Jack argue over her contract. Kenneth is reassigned after being offended by his coworkers at TGS, and Tracy and Jenna's accountant hires them as entertainment at a bar mitzvah.

Will suffers an acute case of bleeding from a stomach ulcer and is hospitalized. There, he learns that an elderly Tennessee resident will not be able to vote because of recently passed voter ID laws in 33 states; this is then the main story when he returns to News Night. Charlie tells the NSA whistle blower, Solomon Hancock, that he cannot use him because he is "contaminated"; later, Hancock commits suicide by throwing himself off the Queensboro Bridge. Sloan tries to raise Congress' intransigence on the debt ceiling to a more prominent position in the news and ponders a job offer. Everything, however, is overshadowed by a showdown long in the making. It finally explodes as Will, Mac and Charlie confront Leona and Reese during a volatile lunch meeting. TMI gossip columnist Nina Howard has information that can destroy Will's career and life by revealing that he was high during the bin Laden report. That bombshell is defused, however, when it is revealed that the magazine obtained the information through phone hacking MacKenzie's voice-mail.

Will meets with Nina Howard, a gossip columnist, to convince her not to publish a story about him being taken off the 9/11 anniversary broadcast. Jerry and Mac meet with Gunnery Sergeant Eric Sweeney who confirms the Genoa story. They take the story to Charlie Skinner. Maggie prepares to leave for Africa. Neal struggles to convince Mac to do a story on Occupy Wall Street (OWS), but Mac is eventually convinced and allows Neal to find an OWS member for an on-air interview with Will. On the Romney press bus, Jim voices his disgust at the limited answers he receives from the Romney campaign spokespeople, and the lack of questions being asked by the other reporters. Hallie musters the courage to start asking hard questions after Jim's rant. Jim and Hallie, along with a third reporter, Stillman, are kicked off the press bus after Jim fails to convince the rest of the reporters to take a stand with them. Jerry assembles a team to continue researching Genoa and their search eventually leads to a source who seems to have described the entire event on Twitter. Takes place between September 23 and September 30, 2011.

The series is a prequel to Sex and the City, and will follow the character of Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school during the early 1980s and part of her life in New York working as a writer.

The first season of the show focuses on Carrie Bradshaw during her junior year of high school in 1984, and she explores life in New York while interning at a law office.
