Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version, originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red & Green, are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. They are the first installments of the Pokémon series. They were first released in Japan in 1996 as Red and Green, with Blue being released later in the year as a special edition. They were later released as Red and Blue in North America, Europe and Australia over the following three years. Pokémon Yellow, a special edition version, was released roughly a year later. Red and Green have subsequently been remade for the Game Boy Advance as Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, released in 2004.

Pocket Monsters Blue was released in Japan as a mail order-only special edition to subscribers of CoroCoro Comic on October 15, 1996. It was later released to general retail on October 10, 1999. The game featured updated in-game artwork and new dialogue for Pokemon Red and Blue. Using Blastoise as its mascot, the code, script, and artwork for Blue was used for the international releases of Red and Green, which were renamed to Red and Blue. The Japanese Blue edition of the game features all but a handful of Pokemon available in Red and Green, making certain Pokemon exclusive to the original editions.

This was a Japan-only release for the Nintendo 64.

Pokemon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, more commonly known as Pokemon Yellow Version, is a 1998 role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy handheld video game console. It is an enhanced remake of Pokemon Red and Blue. Along with the release of Pokemon Yellow, a special edition yellow Pokemon-themed Game Boy Color was also released.

Hey You, Pikachu! is a Nintendo 64 video game developed by Ambrella and published by Nintendo that is recommended for children aged 12 and under. It was first released in Japan on 12 December 1998, and in North America on 6 November 2000. The game features voice-recognition technology used to talk to Pikachu, the star of the game. It is one of only two games that utilizes the N64's Voice Recognition Unit (VRU), a piece of hardware that can comprehend and analyze the human voice. It is also the only game to use the VRU that was released in the United States. Similar technology has been subsequently built into the Nintendo DS and employed in Gamecube games such as Mario Party 6. The player can move around and pick up items, in addition to speaking with Pikachu and can describe everything.

Pokémon Trading Card Game, originally released in Japan as Pokémon Card GB is a video game adaptation of the original tabletop trading card game of the same name, which in turn was based on the Pokémon role-playing video game series. Developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo, it was initially released in Japan in December 1998, with an English version appearing in North America in April 2000 and in Europe the following December. The title features digital version of cards from the first three sets of the trading card game originally released in English by Wizards of the Coast between 1998 and 1999, as well as exclusive cards not available outside of the game.

Pokemon Snap is a first-person rail shooter and simulation video game co-developed by HAL Laboratory and Pax Softnica and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It was first released in Japan on March 21, 1999, and was later released on June 30, 1999 in North America and September 15, 2000, in PAL regions. It is a spin-off game in the Pokemon series, being one of the first console-based games for it, and featuring many Pokemon rendered for the first time in real-time 3D. The game was re-released for the Wii's Virtual Console during December 2007 in Japan, North America, and PAL regions.

Pokemon Stadium is a strategy video game developed by Nintendo EAD with the assistance of Creatures and HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It was released on April 30, 1999, in Japan, March 6, 2000, in North America, March 23, 2000, in Australia, and April 7, 2000, in Europe. Despite it being the first Stadium title in Western regions, the game is a sequel to the 1998 Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Stadium (??????????), which was only released in Japan. Gameplay is built around a 3D turn-based battling system featuring all 151 creatures from the Game Boy games Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version are the second installments of the Pokemon series of role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. They were first released in Japan in 1999, Australia and North America in 2000, and Europe in 2001. Pokemon Crystal, a special edition version, was released roughly a year later in each region. In 2009, Nintendo remade Gold and Silver for the Nintendo DS as Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The games introduce 100 new species of Pokemon, and follow the progress of the central character, whose name the player may choose, in his quest to master Pokemon battling. Both games are independent of each other but feature largely the same plot and, while both can be played separately, it is necessary to trade between them and their backward compatible predecessors in order to fully complete the games' Pokedexes. The Johto Saga of the Pokemon anime is based on the new region introduced in the games.

Pokemon Puzzle League is a puzzle game for the Nintendo 64 console. It is based on Nintendo's Puzzle League puzzle games, but with Pokemon likenesses. It was only available in North America starting in 2000, and in Europe in 2001, making it the first Pokemon game produced for North America. It is so far the only Pokemon game to be based on the Pokemon anime, and to feature Ash Ketchum and any of the characters featured from the anime. The game was released on the Virtual Console on May 5, 2008, in the North America region, and on May 30, 2008, in the European region.

Pokemon Stadium 2 is a video game for the Nintendo 64. It features all 251 Pokemon from the first and second generations. It was released in North America as simply Pokemon Stadium 2, as it was the second Stadium game to be released there. In Japan, Pocket Monsters' Stadium Kin Gin was the third game of the Pokemon Stadium series. The Japanese edition also featured the capability to use the Pokemon Mobile System from Pokemon Crystal which was also released on the same day. This game featured support for all three original Game Boy Pokemon games (Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow) and the three Game Boy Color games (Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal). As in the previous Stadium games, Pikachu from Yellow was a hidden character if the game cartridge was connected. The majority of the game takes place inside the new location White City, where various facilities for battling, organizing, researching, and playing with Pokemon are located. This can be considered to be the Pokemon League for the second generation games. The sequel to the popular Pokemon Stadium features minigames, multiplayer, and league mode.

Pokémon Crystal Version, for the Game Boy Color, is the seventh game in the Pokémon video game series in Japan, and the sixth in North America and Europe. The game is an updated version of the previous two versions, Pokémon Gold and Silver, and was released in Japan on December 14, 2000. It was released in North America on July 29, 2001 and in Europe on November 2, 2001. Unlike its predecessors, it was developed specifically for the Game Boy Color, and is thus not compatible with the original Game Boy, its variants, and the Super Game Boy.

Pokemon Ruby Version and Sapphire Version are the third installments of the Pokemon series of role-playing video games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. The games were first released in Japan in late 2002 and internationally in 2003. Pokemon Emerald, a special edition version, was released two years later in each region. These three games (Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald) are part of the third generation of the Pokemon video game series, also known as the "advanced generation". A remake of the two games, titled Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, were released for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide on November 21, 2014, exactly twelve years to the date of the original Ruby and Sapphire release date, with the exception of Europe, where it was released on November 28, 2014.

Pokemon Box: Ruby and Sapphire, or simply Pokemon Box, is a spin-off Pokemon game for the Nintendo GameCube console, bundled with a Nintendo GameCube - Game Boy Advance link cable and a Memory Card 59. It was released in Japan on May 30, 2003 and in North America on July 11, 2004, but only through the New York Pokemon Center and its online store. It is no longer available in either location. The game was released in some parts of Europe as Pokemon Memory Magic due to translation problems, and Europeans only could get the game by using points from Nintendo of Europe's loyalty program, or by buying the Pokemon Colosseum Mega Pack. The game is essentially a storage system for the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games that allows players to trade and store Pokemon that they have caught in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen onto a GameCube memory card. Players can then organize and interact with their Pokemon on the GameCube, such as allowing them to breed. Unique Pokemon can also be acquired. Another feature allows the games to be played on the television via the GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable. Options such as taking screenshots of the game are available in this mode. Another addition is the "Showcase", where players can create and display game pieces of Pokemon.

Pokemon Channel is a 2003 video game in the Pokemon series for the GameCube, developed by Ambrella and published by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. The player's goal is to help Professor Oak refine and promote his TV network through watching broadcasts with a Pikachu. The game contains elements of the adventure, digital pet, and simulation genres. The player can explore full 3D environments, have Pikachu converse with other Pokemon, and collect various items.

Pokemon Colosseum is a role-playing video game developed by Genius Sonority and published by Nintendo as part of the Pokemon series. It was released exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube on November 21, 2003, in Japan; March 22, 2004, in North America; and May 14, 2004, in Europe. Unlike previous titles, the game does not feature random encounters with Pokemon; instead, the player can steal ("snag") the Pokemon of other Pokemon Trainers. The game also features several battle modes for single-player and multiplayer gameplay.

Pokemon FireRed Version and LeafGreen Version are enhanced remakes of the original Pokemon Red and Blue video games, which were released in 1996. The new titles were developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance and have compatibility with the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter, which originally came bundled with the games. FireRed and LeafGreen were first released in Japan in January 2004 and released to North America and Europe in September and October respectively. Nearly two years after their original release, Nintendo re-marketed them as Player's Choice titles.

Pokemon Emerald, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters Emerald, is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game console. It was first released in Japan on September 16, 2004, and was later released in North America, Australia, and Europe. It is an enhanced remake of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokemon Dash is a racing video game developed by Ambrella for the Nintendo DS. It was a launch title in Japan and Europe. Dash was released in Japan on December 2, 2004; Europe on March 11, 2005; North America on March 13, 2005; and Australia April 7, 2005. It was the first Pokemon game to be released for Nintendo DS. The player uses a stylus to control a Pikachu and race through checkpoints. After players have passed each of the number of checkpoints in order, the course is completed. Dash has multiplayer support, and can connect with 6 different devices.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is the second role-playing video game from Nintendo's Pokemon franchise for the Nintendo GameCube. It is the successor of the GameCube game Pokemon Colosseum. The game takes place in Orre, the setting of Pokemon Colosseum?'?s adventure mode. All of the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games can connect to this game through trading and Battle Mode.

Pokemon Trozei!, released as Pokemon Link! in Europe, is a Pokemon-themed puzzle video game for the Nintendo DS. It was released in Japan on October 20, 2005, in North America on March 6, 2006, in Australia on April 28, 2006, and in Europe on May 5, 2006.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team are a matched pair of Pokemon games for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance, respectively. These two games were developed by Chunsoft and published by Nintendo. It was the last Pokemon-themed video game to be released on the Game Boy Advance. The two versions are mostly identical, with the Blue version taking advantage of the dual-screen features and increased graphical capabilities of the Nintendo DS. The game has six Pokemon exclusive to each version.

Pokemon Ranger is an action role-playing video game developed by HAL Laboratory and Creatures Inc. and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS video game console. The game was released at various dates, varying between continents. The game was first released in Japan on March 22, 2006 and was later released in North America and Australia during the remainder of 2006. The game's final release date was in Europe in April 2007. Pokemon Ranger is compatible with Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver allowing players to transfer the egg of the legendary Pokemon Manaphy to those games. This game is set in the Fiore region.

Pokemon Diamond Version and Pearl Version are role-playing games (RPGs) developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. With the enhanced remake Pokemon Platinum, the games comprise the fifth installment and fourth generation of the Pokemon series of RPGs. First released in Japan on September 28, 2006, the games were later released to North America, Australia, and Europe over the course of 2007.

Pokemon Battle Revolution is the first Wii incarnation of the Pokemon video game franchise. My Pokemon Ranch is a Pokemon video game developed for the Wii by Ambrella. My Pokemon Ranch was released via the WiiWare download service on March 25, 2008 in Japan, in the Americas on June 9, 2008 and in Europe on July 4, 2008 for 1000 Wii Points.

Pokemon Platinum Version is a title in the Pokemon series of video games. It was developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. It is an enhanced version of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl in the same vein as Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald, which were remakes of Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, and Ruby and Sapphire, respectively. It was released on September 13, 2008, in Japan; March 22, 2009, in North America; May 14, 2009, in Australia and May 22, 2009, in Europe. The developers made Platinum with the intent of making it a stronger version of Diamond and Pearl, which they described as the "ultimate" Pokemon titles.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is an enhanced version of Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness for the Nintendo DS. It was released in Japan on April 18, 2009; North America on October 12, 2009; Australia on November 12, 2009; and Europe on November 20, 2009.

Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs is an action role-playing video game for the Nintendo DS. It is the sequel of Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and it is the third installment of its series. It was released in Japan on March 6, 2010, North America on October 4, 2010, and Europe on November 5, 2010. Gameplay revolves around capturing Pokemon with the Capture Styler by drawing circles around them. The game received mixed or average reviews, with Metacritic and GameRankings both giving it a 69%.

Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version are role-playing games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. They are the first installments in the fifth generation of the Pokemon series of role-playing games. First released in Japan on September 18, 2010, they were later released in Europe on March 4, 2011, in North America on March 6, 2011, and Australia on March 10, 2011.

Learn with Pokemon: Typing Adventure, known in Japan as Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS is an educational typing Pokemon spin-off video game developed by Genius Sonority for the Nintendo DS. First released in Japan in April 2011, the title was later made available in Europe in September 2012, and Australia in January 2013. The game is packaged with the Bluetooth Nintendo Wireless Keyboard peripheral, and is notable for being one of the few Pokemon titles released in English to not appear in North America.

Pokémon Rumble Blast, known in the PAL region as Super Pokémon Rumble and known in Japan as Super Pokémon Scramble, is an action video game in the Pokémon series for the Nintendo 3DS. It was the first Pokémon game released for Nintendo 3DS. The game was released in Japan on August 11, 2011, in North America on October 24, 2011 and in Europe on December 2, 2011. It is a successor to the 2009 WiiWare release Pokémon Rumble.

PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond is a Pokemon game for Wii. It was released in Japan on November 12, 2011, in North America on February 27, 2012, in Europe on March 23, 2012. It is the sequel to PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure. In PokePark 2, Pikachu has journeyed to a new Pokepark with his best friend Piplup. They are introduced to the Wish Park, but later find out that it is impossible to escape the Wish Park. Reshiram and Zekrom inform Pikachu of events to come, and tells Pikachu he can save the Pokepark.

Pokemon Conquest, known in Japan as Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition, is a role-playing strategy video game developed by Tecmo Koei and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. The game is a crossover between the Pokemon and Nobunaga's Ambition video game series. The game was released in Japan on March 17, 2012, in North America on June 18, 2012 and in Europe on July 27, 2012.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is a role-playing game in the Pokemon franchise developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The ninth installment in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, it was released in Japan on November 23, 2012, in North America on March 24, 2013, in Europe on May 17, 2013 and in Australia on May 18, 2013.

Pokemon Rumble U is a 2013 action video game in the Pokemon series available on the Wii U eShop. It is the successor to the 2011 3DS game Pokemon Rumble Blast. It features all Pokemon from the first five generations. Up to 100 Pokemon and 4 players will be able to play at the same time. Pokemon Battle Trozei, released as Pokemon Link: Battle! in Europe and Australia, is a Pokemon-themed puzzle video game for the Nintendo 3DS and is the sequel to the 2006 Nintendo DS title Pokemon Trozei!. It was released in the Nintendo eShop in Japan on 12 March 2014, in Europe on 13 March 2014, in Australia on 14 March 2014, and in North America on 20 March 2014. The game includes all 718 Pokemon that were known at the time.

Pokemon Art Academy is an educational drawing video game for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Headstrong Games and published by Nintendo. It is a spin-off of the Art Academy series featuring characters from the Pokemon media franchise, and was first released in Japan in June 2014, followed by English releases in Europe and Australia the following July, and North America in October. The game was made available as both a retail and downloadable release from the Nintendo eShop, and is the first 3DS title with built-in Miiverse support for sharing artwork.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are two 2014 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. They are part of the sixth generation of the Pokemon series, serving as enhanced remakes of the 2002 Game Boy Advance titles Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. The games were announced on May 7, 2014, in a teaser trailer released by Nintendo.[2][3] As with Pokemon X and Y, the games include all official translations, unlike previous generations where each game contained only a single language.

Pokémon Shuffle is a 2015 freemium puzzle game developed by Genius Sonority and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The game, which is a spin-off of the Pokémon series and is similar in gameplay to Pokémon Battle Trozei, was released on the Nintendo eShop on February 18, 2015. Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, a version for Android and iOS, was released on August 24, 2015 in Japan and on August 31, 2015 in most English-speaking countries.

Pokemon Rumble World is a freemium action video game in the Pokemon series developed by Ambrella and published by The Pokemon Company for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the fourth game in the Pokemon Rumble subseries, and features toy versions of all 719 creatures from the first six generations. The game was first released worldwide as a download title on the Nintendo eShop on April 8, 2015, with physical retail versions available in Japan the following November, and Europe in January 2016.

Pokken Tournament, known as Pokemon Tekken in Germany, is an arcade fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game combines gameplay elements from Bandai Namco's Tekken series with characters from the Pokemon franchise. It was released for Japanese arcades on July 16, 2015, with a worldwide release on the Wii U in the Spring of 2016.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is a roguelike video game in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by The Pokemon Company for the Nintendo 3DS handheld game console. Like its predecessors, players control a human who has awoken as a Pokemon in a world filled entirely by the series' eponymous creatures, and must travel through random-generated dungeons completing missions and battling enemies to unravel the story. The game was released in Japan on September 17, 2015, and in North America on November 20, 2015; it will be released in Europe and Australia in February 2016.

Pokemon Picross is a freemium puzzle video game featuring Pokemon characters developed by Jupiter Corporation and published by The Pokemon Company. The title is part of the "Picross" nonogram video game series that use number-based grid puzzles to reveal pictures. It was released worldwide as a download title on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in December 2015.

Pokemon GO is a 2016 augmented reality game for mobile phones developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. The game uses the Pokemon Go Plus, a small wearable device developed by Nintendo, which uses a Bluetooth connection to notify users when a Pokemon is nearby with a LED and a light rumble. The game allows players to capture, battle, train and trade virtual Pokemon who appear throughout the real world. The game is be free-to-play, although it will support in-app purchases. The idea for the game was conceived in 2013 by Satoru Iwata of Nintendo and Tsunekazu Ishihara of The Pokemon Company. In 2015, Ishihara dedicated his speech at the game's announcement on September 10 to Iwata, who died two months earlier. Ishihara and his wife had played Ingress. Different Pokemon will live in different areas of the world - for example, water type Pokemon will live near water. There will be events held where players can trade Pokemon to build up their collection. A wristband device called the "Pokemon Go Plus" will ship with the game, to allow a more "heads-up" gaming experience than Ingress, where the player can be alerted to a nearby pokemon by the Go Plus vibrating, press the button in a coded sequence to capture it and check the app later to find out what they've captured. The decision to create the Go Plus rather than create a smart watch app was to increase uptake among players for whom a smart watch is prohibitively expensive.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. They are the first installments in the seventh generation of role-playing games. First announced in February 2016 by Tsunekazu Ishihara through a special Nintendo Direct, both Sun and Moon and are set to be released worldwide in November 2016, commemorating the franchise's 20th anniversary.
