A French Canadian boy endures the terrible shame when he receives the hockey sweater of the wrong team.

The plot revolves around an ape playing sports. Jack, a three-year-old chimpanzee who is the subject of an experiment involving sign language that is performed by Dr. Kendall. However, Dr. Kendall loses funding for his research and Mr. Kendall's boss, Mr. Peabody, sells Jack to a medical research lab, much to Dr. Kendall's dismay. Unfortunately, Dr. Kendall dies (offscreen) from a heart attack. Dr. Kendall had set up Jack to be taken away from the lab, but Jack was sent to Canada by mistake. In Canada, Jack befriends a lonely teenager named Steven Westover and his deaf sister, Tara . Steven soon discovers that Jack has an uncanny ability to play the sport of ice hockey and Jack joins Steven's junior league hockey team when it is discovered that there is no rule that chimpanzees can't play hockey. However, just before the championship, Dr. Peabody returns to reclaim Jack.

Happy Gilmore is a 1996 American sports comedy film that stars Adam Sandler as the title character, an unsuccessful hockey player who discovers a talent for golf.

The plot revolves around the players on a hockey team ("Les Boys") that play in a low level amateur hockey league. Norris of the Chicago Black Hawks as well as NHL president, Clarence Campbell. The film focusses on the conflict between Lindsay and Jack Adams, Detroit's coach and general manager as well as Lindsay's struggle to win over the trust and support of the players, including Lindsay's long time team mate, the legendary Gordie Howe, amidst coercion and threats from the league and the owners. Lindsay's efforts would ultimately result in the formation of the NHL Players Association.

Gordon Bombay is forced to withdraw from the minor hockey league with a knee injury. Much to his surprise, he is given the job of coach of Team USA Hockey for the Junior Goodwill Games in California. With most of the Ducks and a few new players in tow, he sets forth for LA. All appears to be going well for a while, but the hype of Hollywood starts to get to Gordon, and he is distracted when Iceland, the favourites to win the title, appear on the scene.

Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco), the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs, is suffering from stress because his wife, Prudence Roanoke (Meagan Good), has left him for Jacques "Le Coq" Grandé (Justin Timberlake). The stress causes his hand to shake, which affects his hockey performance. Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) enlists the support of Guru Maurice Pitka (Mike Myers) to help Darren with his stress so that the team can hopefully break their losing streak.

Slap Shot 3: The Junior League is a 2008 sports film starring Greyston Holt and Lynda Boyd and directed by Richard Martin. It follows a junior version of the Charleston Chiefs who fight their way to fame with a new coach and the Hanson Brothers in tow. The direct-to-video film is the sequel to the 2002 direct-to-video film Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice.

Sudden Death is a 1995 American action film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Powers Boothe. The film's story was written by Karen Elise Baldwin, the wife of then-Penguins owner Howard Baldwin. It also features Dorian Harewood and Raymond J. Barry, and is directed by Peter Hyams. It has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. The film was shot during the 1994-95 NHL lockout.
