"Tiger presents Air-Ink" Tiger brings art and science together to transform air pollution into ink. I see smog and pollution every morning. You can see it on buildings. Air pollution is killing about 4000... Tiny particulate matter in the air reached nearly unheard of... It's really hard to get fresh air. I used to think the sheer scale of this issue can make us feel powerless. But when you connect ideas with passion and creativity, amazing things are possible. Hi, my name is Anirudh Sharma and I am the co-founder of Graviky Labs. We are an MIT spin-off which works on building technologies that can make a real world impact. We build this contraption that we connect behind the exhaust on the tail pipe of the car. After we are done capturing the raw carbon, the soot, we take it through a purification process and then we convert that air pollution into printing ink. The same technology can be scaled to fit onto boats, chimneys and brick kilns, and cranes. But hey, we captured all this air pollution inside this little bottle, and now you can paint with this. So we've transformed air pollution into 150 litres of Tiger Air-Ink. Now it's time to pack our bags and take this technology out of the lab and test it for the real world. Putting this ink in the hands of people that are actually going to use it. When you start talking to people from different disciplines, they show you things about your own technology in a way that you never imagined before. Through painting I can put all this dirt in my artwork. You can create quite interesting textures. Damn, this is a really good black, but I'm like, oh my god, how much pollution went into this? This pen is approximately 40-50 minutes of diesel car pollution. Tiger Air-Ink project champions creativity from the streets. We want to bring people together who have the skills, passion, and also the craft to make an impact. Ink has been the most powerful medium of expression for thousands of years. So anywhere there are artists, there are people who use inks to write. Any place ink is used, this whole idea of Air-Ink can go. That fusion of art, that fusion of expression, and science when it happens - I think new magic appears. Tiger presents Air-Ink The first ink made from air pollution.
