"2 Boys in a Boat: The Youngest Pair to Ever Row the Atlantic" Duracell presents "2 boys in a boat". The story of the youngest pair ever to row the Atlantic. Considered to be the one of the most extreme tests of human endurance on Earth. 40ft swells, 35 mile per hour winds, Russian container ships and sharks were just a few of the hazards the boys faced. Jamie Sparks and Luke Birch set a new world record by rowing 3000 miles in 54 days, aged just 21 years old. Together they raised over £300,000 for Breast Cancer Care. More people have been into space, and more people summit Everest every single year than have ever rowed the Atlantic. I didn't believe that it was doable which was definitely one of the reasons I wanted to try and do it. We were two hours on, two hours off for fifty four days which has a huge amount of stress on the joints and ligaments, and that leads to just excruciating pain at times. I've been at it for 12 hours now. I can barely keep my eyes open. There is nothing to look at apart from dark blue sea, so you're left with absolutely nothing but your thoughts. I remember crawling into the cabin, and just breaking down into tears that I had run out of things to think of. All we saw of the sharks were fins, then they would be gone. Giving up was never an option. Not on the 12th hour, not on the 20th day, not on the 50th day. There was no way anything within our control was going to lead to us giving up.
