"Samsung Mobile USA - The Next Big Thing - Super Bowl 2013" This Super Bowl XLVII commercial for Samsung Mobile features Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd meeting with a Samsung representative (Bob Odenkirk, known most recently for his portrayal of Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad) about ideas for their Big Game ad. They are trying to come up with ideas for the advertisement, but all they are doing is listing ideas from all the other (pre-released) commercials for this year's game. Some of the ideas include: * talking babies - E*Trade talking baby ad * Crowdsourcing - Doritos, Pepsi, Lincoln * send people to space - Axe Apollo * become an Asian rapper - Wonderful Pistachios, Psy - Gangnam Style * they also reference a previous Samsung ad about eating breakfast with Lebron James Paul Rudd: Hey man. Seth Rogen: How's it going. Paul: What are you doing here? Seth: Samsung wants me to be in their new, big commercial. The Next Big Thing - yeah. Paul: They called me in for The Next Big Thing. Seth: Maybe in like 1998, you were the next big thing. Paul: Wow, I've never seen you this excited about something that wasn't food. Seth: You are not the next big thing. Paul: You make people physically uncomfortable. Seth: Look man, they gave me a phone. Paul: I got one too. Seth: Where'd you get that? Paul: They gave it to me because I'm the next big thing. This commercial starts out with a couple sitting on the couch, obviously upset with each other after a fight. The guy tries to break the ice and make up by selecting "Despicable Me" from On Demand. The brunette counters with her selection of "The Break-up". They comes back by selecting and playing "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago from Pandora Internet Radio. The woman then updates her Facebook status to "Single". Finally, the man starts playing their wedding video from "AllShare". This commercial begins in a train station. Several people are carrying in large HD TVs that they place over the windows of the train. Later as the train is speeding down the tracks, the TVs are turned on with images of horses in a snow-covered landscape (as if they are running along side the train). As the train travels through an industrial section of the city, a slow moving scene of a Middle Eastern market is shown on the TV, and a little boy climbs down a ladder apparently from the top of the train. "Samsung Smart TV Charge Ad" This commercial begins with what looks like a Mongol riding a war horse down a beach at full speed while police cars chase him. After this we see some cowboys start running down the beach as well, and they are followed by a dune buggy. Soon there are hundreds of other people running on the beach too, including a woman in a Victorian costume, an entire football team, a pack of wolves, people with flags, soldiers, helicopters, and even a Tyrannosaurus Rex. At another end of the beach where everyone is running toward is a man sitting in a comfy chair watching all of this happen. We then learn that he is actually just sitting at home watching a scene on his crystal clear Samsung Smart TV. He speaks into his TV remote asking it for recommendations, and several pop up on the screen for him. He then uses his hand movements to control his selection on what to watch.
