Sean Thornton, an Irish-American from Pittsburgh, returns to Ireland to reclaim his family's farm in Innisfree. He meets and falls in love with the fiery Mary Kate Danaher, the spinster sister of the bullying, loud-mouthed landowner "Red" Will Danaher. Danaher, angry that Sean outbid him for the land adjacent to his property, initially refuses to sanction the marriage until several town locals, including the parish priest, conspire to trick him into believing that the wealthy Widow Tillane wants to marry him, but only if Mary Kate is no longer living in the house. After learning the truth on Sean and Mary Kate's wedding day, an enraged Will refuses to give his sister her full dowry. Sean, unschooled in Irish customs, cares nothing about the dowry, but Mary Kate is obsessed with obtaining it, the dowry representing her independence, identity, and pride. Angered and shamed by Sean's refusal to confront her brother and demand what is legally hers, she brands him a coward, and, despite living together, they are estranged as husband and wife. The truth about Sean, however, is known only to one other person in the village, the Church of Ireland minister "Snuffy" Playfair. Sean is a former boxer in the United States, a heavy weight champion known as "Trooper Thorn." After accidentally killing an opponent in the ring, Sean hung up his gloves, vowing never to fight again. Later, in an attempt to force Sean to confront Red, Mary Kate leaves him and boards a train departing the village, although she continually looks around to see if he is coming after her. Infuriated, Sean arrives and drags her off the train, and, followed by the townspeople, forces her to walk the five miles to Red's farm. Sean demands that Red hand over her dowry. Red finally relents and gives him the cash, but to his horror, Mary Kate and Sean throw it into a furnace, showing that Mary Kate never cared about the money, but only that Sean stand up for his wife. Sean and Will slug it out through the village, stop for a drink, brawl again, then become best friends. Sean regains Mary Kate's love and respect, Red and the Widow Tillane begin courting, and all is well, at least in Innisfree.

The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns is a 1999 Hallmark made-for-TV movie about leprechauns and fairies.

In the small Irish town of Rathcullen, County Kerry, Darby O'Gill is the aging Caretaker of Lord Fitzpatrick's estate. He lives on the estate, in the Gatehouse, with his lovely, almost grown, daughter Katie. But Darby spends most of his time in the town pub, regaling his friends with tales of his attempts to catch the leprechauns, particularly the Leprechaun King Brian Connors. Lord Fitzpatrick decides that Darby is past his prime as a laborer; so he decides to retire Darby on half-pay, and give him and Katie another cottage to live in, rent-free. He also decides to bring into Darby's old position, a new younger man named Michael McBride. Darby begs Michael not to tell Katie he's being replaced, to which Michael reluctantly agrees. That very night, Darby is captured by the leprechauns; he is tripped down the old ruined well on top of the fairy mountain Knocknasheega, by his horse, Cleopatra (who is actually a Pooka). Once captured, Darby discovered that King Brian did it as a "favor" to Darby, so he won't have to make any shameful admission to Katie about losing his job. But Darby has no desire to remain the leprechauns prisoner/guest "forever", and be separated from Katie. So Darby tricks all the leprechauns into going off onto a fox hunt by playing "The Fox Chase" for them on a beautiful Stradivarius violin, loaned to him by King Brian. The leprechauns, after a wild dance, mount their tiny white horses and leave for a hunt in the night, through a large crack in the mountainside wall which King Brian magically creates. Darby then escapes through this after the last of the leprechauns ride out. However, Darby also attempts to steal some of the leprechauns treasure, but it all falls out through a hole in his coat pocket and he's left with nothing.

The plot centers around an Irishman, Finian McLonergan, who leaves his homeland to come to America with a pot of gold taken from a leprechaun. Og, the laprechaun follows McLonergan to the US to take back his gold before he turns into a human.

Marcy Tizzard is assistant to Senator John McGlory from Boston, Massachusetts. In an attempt to court the Irish-American vote in a tough reelection battle, the bumbling senator's chief of staff, Nick, sends Marcy to Ireland to find McGlory's relatives or ancestors. Marcy arrives at the fictional village of Ballinagra as it is preparing for the annual matchmaking festival. She attracts the attention of two rival professional matchmakers, Dermot and Millie as well as roguish bartender Sean. The locals tolerate her genealogical search while trying to match her with various bachelors. Sean tries to woo Marcy despite her resistance to his boorish manners. After they have begun their romance, they return home to Sean's house one afternoon to find his estranged wife waiting for them. Marcy leaves Sean, upset that he did not disclose his marriage to her. McGlory and Nick arrive in Ballinagra, although Marcy's been unable to locate any McGlory relatives. McGlory discovers Sean's wife's maiden name is Kennedy and brings her back to Boston as his fiancee just in time for the election, and wins by a small margin. While at the victory party, McGlory's father reveals privately to Marcy that the family is Hungarian, not Irish. The family name had been changed at Ellis Island when they immigrated, but as they settled in Boston with its large Irish population, he never told his son their true lineage. Sean follows Marcy to Boston, and they reconcile.

The film is about Irish immigrants seeking their fortune in 1890s America, eventually taking part in the Land Run of 1893.

Kyle Johnson, a popular basketball player in high school who has never known about his heritage, one day realizes that someone has stolen his lucky gold coin. Strange things start to happen to Kyle, his ears become pointed, his hair starts turning orange, and he starts to become shorter. Kyle then returns home one day to find that his mom has shrunk to six inches. The truth is then revealed to Kyle, Kyle's family is made up of Leprechauns. Kyle is only half leprechaun, since his dad is from Cleveland. It also turns out that the gold coin he wore was the O'Reilly, Kyle's mother's maiden name, lucky coin. A magic coin, when in the possession of the youngest family member, allows all the leprechauns in the family to pass as normal human beings. But since the coin is gone, the family is down on their luck now, and reverting to their true forms.

Lamb is a 1985 British drama film, directed by Colin Gregg and starring Liam Neeson, Hugh O'Conor and Ian Bannen. The film is based on the novel by Bernard MacLaverty, who also wrote the screenplay.

Stephen Fitzgerald, a newspaper reporter from New York, meets a leprechaun and a beautiful young woman while traveling in Ireland. When he returns to his fiance and her wealthy father's political campaign in New York, he finds that the leprechaun and the young woman are now in the big city as well. Stephen is torn between the wealth he might enjoy in New York or returning to his roots in Ireland.

The story is told from the point-of-view of Fiona, a young girl who is sent to live with her grandparents in an Irish fishing village. Her grandfather weaves tall tales about the family's evacuation from their home on the tiny island of Roan Inish and his great-great grandfather, who once cheated death at the hands of the sea. As she meets other villagers, Fiona hears more personal stories about an ancestor who married a beautiful, part-human/part-seal, and more about how the sea stole her baby brother during the departure from Roan Inish. Later, Fiona believes that she has found Jamie romping in the grass on Roan Inish, and she must convince the family of her vision.

A British soldier is kidnapped by IRA terrorists. He befriends one of his captors, who is drawn into the soldier's world.

Howard is a less than successful writer of "how-to" books. He is a widower and single father to a spunky ten year old daughter named Molly. Howard inherits an old mansion in Ireland. He and Molly move in to the mansion, and Molly discovers a leprechaun living on the property. However, the leprechaun doesn't appear to have any magical powers, and does not help her out of bad situations at school or at home. Meanwhile, Howard has found a new love interst. Howard, in the meanwhile, has a new love interest.

The film portrays a tragic love story set in late 1930s Ireland, focusing on the relationship between Fiona Flynn, a beautiful, feisty seventeen-year-old from a middle class family, and Kieran O'Dea, a shy labourer in his early thirties, and the search decades later by their son, Kieran Johnson, to find his roots in late 1990s Ireland. The film is told as an interweaving of the nineties setting, where Kieran is hearing the story of his parents, and the events of the 1930s. Kieran Johnson grew into adulthood unaware of his parents' story or of the tragic events that caused his mother to leave Ireland on her own while pregnant.
