Looking for the source of a betrayal leads to violence at the Stockton Ports. Meanwhile, Gemma decides to take matter into her own hands.

A past effort to help one ally lead to trouble with another. Also, a retaliation from another club leads to deadly results.

In the wake of Tara's death, Jax makes vengeance a club priority. Meanwhile, Juice begins to hide from the club due to his actions.

Jax's search for Tara and his children leads him to make a difficult decision. Nero confronts Jax over Juice's role in Darvany's murder. Alvarez and Lin form a pact against the One Niners, which threatens to shut down SAMCRO's business in Stockton. Gemma takes matters into her own hands.

Clay gets broken out during his prison transfer, Bobby gets shot in the process. Jax exacts his revenge on the Irish and Clay for past wrongdoings. Patterson is unhappy with the way Jax upheld his end of the deal and makes it seem as if she's going to throw that deal out. Tara contemplates making a deal of her own to stay out of jail and get her and her sons out of Charming for good.

Jax apologizes to Gemma and Nero for what happened with Tara after he discovered all the truth. After Clay locks down all of SAMCRO's gun customers only one customer is left waiting to close on the deal, the Italian Cacuzza family. Jax and the Irish meet with Jimmy Cacuzza to ensure that they're onboard with Clay being the new distributor. In an attempt to secure them as customers the Irish attack the Chinese (Lin) leaving SAMCRO in a very compromising position. After the meet SAMCRO is kidnapped by the Chinese who demand for the Sons to hand over the business and territory or else. The Chinese keep Happy as insurance that Jax will honor their demand. Tara catches Jax in bed with Collette and leaves angrily. Pissed off at everything that's gone on she decides to try to make a deal with DA Patterson but Patterson refuses, stating that the deal is no longer on the table.

SAMCRO comes to the aid of Nero's transgender friend. Tara is more determined to make a break from Gemma, though possibly not from Jax. Tara fakes an assault, and gets a restraining order against Gemma.

While on their way to a summit meeting with several West Coast SOA chapters, the Charming chapter is pulled over by dirty cops, but the bikers escape. At the summit, Jax announces the end of the gun business with the IRA and is met with agreement and approval. Bobby brings in new members to the Charming chapter. The state attorney still threatens to prosecute Tara unless she testifies against SOA. Roosevelt searches Toric's motel room and leaves convinced of Nero's innocence.

Former U.S. Marshal Lee Toric takes Clay to visit Otto. Clay slips a shiv to Otto. Toric gives Otto a pad to write down the sins of SAMCRO. Otto writes an insulting remark about Toric's sister and then kills Toric. The guards then kill Otto. Jax exacts revenge against some skinhead Nazis, killing them and planting the guns on their rural property, and then burning down their house, making it look like an internal beef. Galen is pissed off that Jax wants out of guns, and Galen goes to Osbourne's lumber barn and shoots and dismembers SAMCRO member Phil and a SAMCRO prospect. The Sheriff orders Lee Toric's personnel file, suspecting Lee Toric is up to no good. The Sheriff lets Nero go home, but Nero's truck remains impounded.

Instead of being killed in jail, the inmates who might have loyalty to Pope's people instead tell Clay to commit a jail rec-yard stabbing. Jax and Barosky settle the score with the Iranians. Marshal Lee Toric accidentally shoots a Diosa hooker that he brought back to his motel room. Telling the dead corpse that he'll make her death matter, he takes hair and blood samples to plant inside Nero Padilla's truck. Jax sends Tig back to the warehouse where they stored stuff that they stole from the Iranians. Tig is waiting for Jax, but Mr. Marx, the associate of Mr. Pope, shows up.

The school shooting was committed by someone connected to Nero, who had been given a number of KG-9's. Jax contacts the Irish, wishing to get out of the gun business, but the Irish are resistant to the idea. Toric offers Clay help with the murder charge, in exchange for information about SAMCRO.. When Clay refuses, Toric forges his signature to a plea agreement. Nero's cousin, as well as the latter's girlfriend - whose kid wielded the gun in the school attack - are killed and buried. Elsewhere, Bobby has added another member to a list of members.

Just days after Clay and Tara were imprisoned, much has changed within SAMCRO: Chibs is now Vice President, Happy is the new Sergeant-at-Arms, Bobby has distanced himself from SAMCRO and is considering going Nomad, and Juice's status in the club is in question. Jax not only learns that Lyla was beaten after taking part in a violent style of porn at the docks in Stockton, but that Gemma may have turned Tara into the authorities, which he finds difficult to believe. Lee Toric appeals to both Clay and Tara to turn state's witness against the Sons of Anarchy. Tara refuses, but Clay knows he won't live long without Toric's help. Jax and his crew head to Stockton to deal with those who hurt Lyla, and they strike up a partnership with an ex-cop (Peter Weller) who enlists Jax's help in helping a local madam (Kim Dickens) go legit. Pope's people still want Jax to surrender Tig to them. At a Catholic school, a violent shooting occurs which could have dire repercussions for the club.

Jax strikes a new deal while ridding himself of old problems, Jax and Tig kill Pope and frame Clay for the murder, and Tara is arrested for conspiracy to commit murder.

After confronting Juice about his betrayal of the club, Jax offers him a path to redemption. Avenging Opie's death proves difficult when one of the perpetrators turns up under the protection of the Grim Bastards, leading to a disagreement between Jax and Bobby. As Gemma attempts to get closer to Clay, Tara performs one last favour for Otto-with bloody results.

Jax and the club go on the hunt for Frankie Diamonds, while Clay and Juice follow up on their own leads in an attempt to get to him first. Gemma and Nero share a tender moment as he buries his sister. Tara gets more than she bargained for as she makes a second attempt to get Otto to recant his story. Roosevelt and Jax's deal comes to a head, but neither is too thrilled with the results.

As Jax and the club begin to connect the dots on the series of home invasions, the Nomads scramble to get out of Charming before they are found out. Meanwhile, Jax is forced to clean up one of his mother's messes. Clay uses Juice and Unser to tie up some loose ends. Jax's trust in Pope is even more strained when two black gang members attack him and Chibs. Tara gives Gemma one more chance to be in her children's lives, which ends in tragedy when she has a car accident while driving with the children.

Jax's sovereignty has a shaky start after the One-Niners attack one of SAMCRO's gun shipments. Gemma makes a new ally during a night of drinking. An irritated Tara has trouble ascending to her role as queen and mother. Clay attempts to get into the club's good graces by revealing part of the truth about Piney's death. Damon Pope and his crew exact appalling revenge on Tig. Opie rebuffs Jax's offer to sit at the table. A series of home invasions rock Charming, and an unsuspecting Unser in particular.

History repeats itself when Jax's future in Charming and with the MC is finally determined. Potter's RICO case takes an unusual turn when the Gallindo Cartel reveals its true intentions. The vote is made on Hale's Charming Heights proposition. SAMCRO makes a shift in its members' rank.

Jax and Tara discover the peaceful possibilities of life outside of SAMCRO, but the harsh reality of their inability to leave the rest of the group behind quickly makes itself known to the two of them.

Juice's plan doesn't work out. The club vote for a new president is put on hold when rivals of the The Gallindo drug cartel bring their issues to SAMCRO's front door. Tara makes a decision about her future, to protect her family. Clay makes a drastic move to protect himself.

As the Sons set up their business in one of Alvarez's drug labs, the club endures difficult situations with both Tara's death threat letter and an attack against the Mayans. Bobby, unhappy with the ongoing events, calls a vote for a new president. Juice is cornered by Linc Potter's scheme and makes a desperate move.

Jax, Clay and the other SAMCRO members are released from prison after 14 months for federal weapon charges and return to Charming where they encounter a new sheriff and an Assistant U.S. Attorney who set up a secret task force to shut down the club's gunrunning operation. Opie and Lyla get married in a ceremony on an Indian reservation, while the Sons sever their ties to the Russian Mob. Jax proposes to Tara and reveals his desire to leave the Sons of Anarchy.

SAMCRO looks to heal old wounds while the ATF and the Russians stand in the way.

While the club's on a man hunt, Jax faces the toughest decision of his life.

In need of cash to fund Bobby's defense, Clay's solution leaves SAMCRO in a vulnerable position. What's supposed to be a happy homecoming for Abel ends in more turmoil for the club.

SAMCRO plans retaliation on a rival biker club while dealing with a wounded Cameron Hayes in the clubhouse. Meanwhile, Jax, Bobby, and Opie aim to put an end to the gun debt for good.

A small favor for Piney's old war buddy turns into a big problem for SAMCRO. With Clay detained, Jax must step-up to handle the situation.

As the club deals with the aftermath of their illegal arms warehouse attack, the Deputy Chief of Police poses a new threat to SAMCRO's reign over Charming. Jax continues to worry about the fate of his newborn son and begins to question the club's rough way of doing business. Opie's financial struggles leave him with a difficult choice.
