"2014 Volkswagen Game Day Commercial: Wings" This 2014 Super Bowl commercial begins with a father and daughter driving in the family Volkswagen. The father is excited and tells his daughter to look at the odometer because it is about to roll over to one hundred thousand miles. She isn't impressed, so the dad says that every time a VW gets 100000 miles a Volkswagen engineer gets his wings. We are then taken to a cut-scene in a VW factory/R&D plant where engineers suddenly sprout angel-like wings from their backs. One engineer is inside a car and the wings pop out of the sunroof. Another is in an elevator and the wings pop out and rub against a woman's butt (she slaps him for it). Two engineers with wings are in the men's room while one with small wings looks over enviously of another with very large wings. In the wind tunnel, one man gets blown away when his feathery wings suddenly appear. Back in the car, the daughter doesn't believe a word of the wing story. She sarcastically says that, "I'm sure at 200,000 miles rainbows shoot out of their butts." Another cut scene is shown with this occurring as well. Hey, Darcy, look. Hundred thousand miles. So? It's a big deal. What if I told you that every time a Volkswagen hits 100,000 miles a German engineer gets his wings? Ahhh. I hate these wingie thingies. Yeah, dad, and I'm sure at two hundred thousand miles rainbows shoot out of their butts. Volkswagen has the most vehicles on the road with over 100,000 miles. That's the power of German engineering.
