Cal Weaver is living the dream - he's got a good job, nice house, and great kids. Cal gets the surprise of his life when he learns his wife Emily wants a divorce. His "perfect" life quickly unravels. "Punch Dub" (PunchDub) Shows a Volkswagen Beetle (i.e., a "Punch Bug") drive by, and a little boy punches the other boy sitting next to him. Then a woman sees another VW (not a Beetle) and punches her bus driver. Two women are walking in their neighborhood and sees a parked VW and punches her friend. Two state troopers sitting in their car, and the officer in the passenger seat punches the driver. There is then a whole montage of people punching each other finishing with a little boy who punches an old man in the crotch. The commercial continues with one EMT in an ambulance punching another EMT, and punches continue including a waitress punching a customer which causes him to spill his coffee. A pregnant woman in labor punches her husband while in the car, an Amish man punches another while riding in a horse-drawn carriage, a guy punches his sleeping friend. Punches continue. Finally we see Tracy Morgan get punched by Stevie Wonder (who is blind) after yelling "Red one!". Morgan can't understand how he does it. Yellow one! (punch) Blue one! (punch) Red one! Damon and Elena try to get back her memories with no luck, Elena gives up and crosses the border but Damon grabs her in time that she doesn't die. Elena only remembers bits and pieces but not enough to love Damon again. Damon decides to let Elena go while dropping her off at her dorm. Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline need to get Tripp back from Enzo before the people who wanted Tripp back kills Caroline's mom. Enzo secretly turns Tripp into a vampire without Caroline or Stefan knowing. Tripp crosses the Mystic Falls border and dies, while Caroline gets her mom back. Caroline sees that they hurt her mom so Stefan and her takes Sheriff Forbes to the hospital and while waiting for her, Stefan and Caroline talk about what Enzo said earlier (that Caroline loved Stefan and how he didn't notice). They talk and Stefan apologizes for not knowing, which gets Caroline mad. Liam tells Elena that he is close to knowing how the girl who was in the maze recovered so quickly, which gets Elena alarmed since Elena's blood is what made the girl from the corn maze recover so quickly.
