"Meet the New Windows" This commercial shows us some of the new features of Windows 8. It begins by explaining "picture password" and how you can point and draw on a picture to unlock your computer. After logging in, you see the Live Tiles which update automatically and can be customized. We also see how easy it is to search your computer, apps, files, and settings from a single location. In this case, a woman searches for "chocolate cake" which brings up a recipe and pictures from the Cook Book app. Next we see how you can multitask with more than one app open on the screen at once. The woman is using the Messaging app and opens a video at the same time. She feels that the video is too small, so she widens it and the messaging app shrinks down automatically. Finally, we see how easy it is to share with your friends from almost any app. The woman swipes the side of her tablet to open up a sharing option and shares the video. "Windows 8: Work Hard, Play Hard" This commercial begins with a person entering their picture password on a family portrait. Then they start using some of the apps on the tablet through the Live Tiles. They have a game of Fruit Ninja going and then switch between apps just by swiping from the side of the tablet. They then open two apps at once by slowly moving their finger over until the (previously) unopened Twitter app takes up 1/3 of the screen. They then move that app over to take over 2/3 of the screen and then the full screen. All this is done while a surfer video plays on the rest of the screen. While the interface of Windows 8 is new, you can switch over to the desktop interface you are more familiar with whenever you want. It also features how you can "take your photos and files with you" by using SkyDrive to store your stuff in the cloud. This commercial for the upcoming release of Microsoft Windows 8 operating system begins with a NASA-like countdown. They start at 10, and only get down to 8 which they repeat several times. As they say "eight" over and over, old things blow up (like old laptops) and are replaced by newer technology like a tablet that can be plugged into a keyboard and used as a monitor, and other touchscreen devices. One person uses their new devices to watch Parkour videos from their XBox. Another plays multi-player Fruit Ninja on a large touch screen monitor. Another person uses the picture password feature to "draw" a secret pattern on a picture to log into their computer. A little girl "paints" pictures using her touch device. "Windows 8: Artist" This commercial shows a bored little girl. Her mother grabs the touchscreen monitor from her new Windows 8 computer and puts it on the little girl's artist easel. The girl then "paints" pictures on the touch device like it's a painting canvas. She picks a photo from the image library, and then tries to copy it in her painting app. She finishes off the face with a big red smile, and her mom prints the picture and pins it to the wall. Next she paints a rainbow, a falling star, the Earth, and a flower all while wearing costumes such as a Viking helmet, an owl hat, and a flower headband. While she's painting, the phone rings, and she answers it to talk to her dad right on the computer through Skype. She shows her dad her new pictures through the webcam (including one of him that she holds up-side-down). At the end, she spins around while holding the picture of her father. He then uses a drawing app to paint a picture of his girlfriend and includes one of the short poems in the picture when he sends it to her.
