Adam tells his nephew Drew that his high school nickname was 'Fever' - short for Saturday Night Fever, because of his slick dance moves.
Saturday Night Fever is a story about Tony Manero, a young man, coming of age, whose weekend activities are visits to a local Brooklyn discotheque and Karen Lynn Gorney as his dance partner and eventual girlfriend. While in the disco, Tony is the king, his care-free youth and weekend dancing help him to temporarily forget the reality of his life: a dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents, racial tensions in the local community, and his associations with a gang of immature friends.
