Three childhood best friends, and a guy they just met, take a trip across the country, finding themselves and their friendship in the process.

Winters writes a report on the challenge of an unexpected resistance to a German attack, and is haunted by his conscience after shooting a teenage German SS soldier. This flashback occurs several times in later episodes. Operation Pegasus is depicted. Easy Company is called to Bastogne at the start of the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the episode, Captain Winters now effectively commands the whole battalion.

As the CSIs investigate the assassination of a judge, Jo comes face-to-face with a criminal from her past.

Federico considers his options after being offered a job by Kroehner; Nate rents out the slumber room for dance lessons, and has a rather memorable paranoid misadventure involving marijuana.

After attorney Jennifer Nichols disappears, the team investigates the last few days in her life and soon find that she had grown disillusioned with her most recent relationship with Allen Davis. Discussions with a married ex-lover reveal that Nichols had recently gone through an old case file relating to a ten-year-old bank robbery, which has a connection to her recent relationship. Jack and Ann avoid discussing a recent development in their relationship -- her pregnancy.
