As a toxic cloud of smog hangs over New York City during Thanksgiving 1966, Betty's bitterness over her weight gain and Megan's youth and beauty leads her to tell Sally about Anna Draper in an attempt to cause turmoil between Sally, Don, and Megan. Don and Peggy are both irritated by Michael Ginsberg's rising star, and Don takes a devious approach to clip the wings of the young copywriter. Roger gets handed a new client (Manischewitz) by Bert Cooper, but Roger's decision that he needs more Jewish input to help him involves estranged wife Jane, with unfortunate results. Pete continues to resent that his brief affair with commuter-acquaintance Howard's wife, Beth, has ended.

The Chances along with Sabrina, borrow a house in order to impress Burt's rich parents, who have decided to the family for Thanksgiving. However, things go awry when the real home-owners return early, and Burt's parents realize how they really live.

The episode follows the Griffin family after they win the state lottery, and go on to spend the money with no regard. Peter becomes power hungry, and demands that his friends, Quagmire and Joe, perform tasks for him when he invests in one of their projects. This ultimately causes the group to end their friendship, however, to the dismay of his wife, Lois, who tells her husband that the money has changed him for the worse. After continually wasting the money on various expenditures, the family discovers that they have gone broke, and reluctantly return to their lives as a middle class family. Peter also goes on to repair his broken friendships, after begging for their forgiveness.

When Marshall gets the job of his dreams, he worries that, once the company discovers videos he made in the past, they may rescind the offer. Meanwhile, Ted can't decide who to bring to the Architects Ball.

Arthur accidentally starts a fire in Doug and Carrie's basement, so Carrie faces the fact that she and Doug should consider finding him a retirement home to live in. When Doug starts to clean out the basement by removing Arthur's things, he finds a trunk in which Arthur has stored memorabelia from his past, including mementos from the acting career he gave up when Carrie was born. Doug has second thoughts about sending Arthur away, now that he has seen proof that he can be a selfless, caring father. Meanwhile, It is Danny and Spence's two year anniversary of living together. Spence reminds Danny that they made a deal that if they were still single and living together after two years, they would switch bedrooms so Spence could have the bigger room. Danny doesn't want to give up the bigger bedroom, so the two have a fight over it and come to an interesting settlement.

'Fiddler on the Roof' received a Grammy Nomination (59th Annual Grammy Awards, 2017) for: "Best Musical Theater Album"

Fiddler on the Roof is a musical with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, set in Tsarist Russia in 1905. It is based on Tevye and his Daughters (or Tevye the Milkman) and other tales by Sholem Aleichem. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope with both the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters-each one's choice of husband moves further away from the customs of her faith-and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
