A nervous Hank discovers that he's got good reason to panic when his trial turns into an all-out character assassination, with even friendly witnesses Charlie and Karen unable to portray him as anything other than a drunken, oversexed lout. It is revealed that Hank and Mia had met before the night they slept together, with Hank not remembering the meeting due to him being in a drunken stupor and Abby becomes nervous the case may be lost.

Earl and Randy move out of the motel and get an apartment. Joy faces a life sentence in prison, and Earl decides to testify as a character witness. Earl starts dating Joy's deaf lawyer when he still has a void in his life that an education and a job couldn't fill.

The Vikings raid a Northumbrian village with little bloodshed, as the villagers are gathered for Mass. During the raid, Lagertha kills Knut when he tries to rape her. Back on the beach, the raiders defeat a superior Northumbrian force under Lord Wigea, sent by King Aelle, and return to Kattegat. There, Earl Haraldson has Ragnar, who claims to have killed Knut, arrested and tried at the Thing assembly. The Earl's ploy to bribe Rollo to testify against Ragnar fails, and Ragnar is acquitted. As the raiders celebrate with Athelstan and Ragnar's children, they are assaulted by armed men. Although Ragnar's followers prevail, his companion Erik is killed.

Detectives Benson and Stabler investigate allegations of child abuse when Christopher Ryan (Jae Head), is caught driving a runaway van. Christopher explains how his foster parents, Gwen and Noah Sibert (Julie Bowen and Luke Perry), bribe him in exchange for abusive medical testing. As Detective Benson continues to study the boy's accusations, she is led back to a former unsolved rape case involving Caitlyn Ryan (Sara Gilbert). After reviewing both cases, the detectives uncover a connection between the two cases that is complicated, when they meet SVU'S new ADA Kim Greylek (Michaela McManus), who quickly butts heads with everyone.

Peter Ducek, an elderly juror, disappears on the same day the jury is dismissed to consider a verdict in a child murder case. Initially, Jack and the team suspect that the disappearance is connected to the suspected murderer who has connections to violent gang members and threatened the jury members while in court. However. following interviews with Peter's son, the team begins to believe that the key to finding the missing man may lie in his past, a past that could include connections to Nazi Germany.

Other than their titles, the movies in this "series" actually have no connection at all - the names of the seconds and third movies were used to try to piggyback on the "success" of the original Troll movie. In fact only the first movie contains any trolls.
