The One That Got Away

Claire and Phil decide to reprise their role-playing adventure from the previous year; Jay's elaborate Valentine's surprise for Gloria keeps getting held up; an admirer comes between Cameron and Mitchell.

Claire & Haley become home sick while Phil tries to find an annoying chirping smoke detector. Gloria & Manny go to Jay's work place much to Jay's dismay. Cameron takes Lily to a commercial against Mitchell's wishes.

At the Dunphy house, Phil learns that his neighbor, Gary has had a divorce. Phil is initially sad for Gary, but soon fears that the same thing might happen to him and Claire. Phil soon assumes Claire's business with the haunted house is a sign she isn't loving him anymore. He soon does the things Gary did wrong which fail. Mitchell also gets excited learning that his new law firm allows employees to wear Halloween costumes. Unfortunately he learns only two people wear costumes and they are called "tools" and "douches". He tries to get out of the costume, but is pulled into meeting after meeting not giving him the chance. Meanwhile, Gloria gets offended by Manny and Jay correcting her accent. At the party, everything goes wrong with Jay late at activating the effects, Gloria speaking in her "english" voice, and Cameron won't stop talking about his "traumatic" Halloween story. After two failed attempts, Claire becomes furious and walks out of the haunted house. Phil then asks her if she's tired of him. She then tells him that they're stuck together. While they talk the rest of the family finishes the haunted house perfectly, to Claire and Phil's happiness.

The guest list for Lily's princess-themed birthday party gets a little out of hand when Mitchell decides to invite his mom, much to Claire's dismay, and disinvite Fizbo, much to Cameron's dismay. Things get even more strange when DeDe shows up with Claire's old high school boyfriend in tow, and Jay and Gloria each turn to their own unique methods of dealing with this gathering of misfits.

Claire becomes a determined neighborhood vigilante hoping to catch and stop a car that speeds though their streets. Meanwhile, Phil is busy trying to land an important listing with a difficult client, Jay teaches Manny and Gloria how to ride a bike, and Mitchell and Cameron meet a charming mysterious neighbor.

Phil, Claire, and the kids try to improve their communication skills by giving up their electronic devices. Gloria is getting obsessed over a neighbor's barking dog, and Mitchell and Cameron try to find a preschool for Lily.

This film tells the story of Rose DeWitt Bukater, and Jack Dawson, two members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ill-fated voyage of the ship.
