Jan leads the female Dunder Mifflin employees in a "women in the workplace" seminar. Miffed at being excluded, Michael conducts a competing "men in the workplace" seminar in the warehouse. Roy approaches Jim under the belief that Jim used to like Pam. Darryl and his equally irritated crew are forced to participate in Michael's shenanigans, which culminates in Michael trying to drive a forklift. Michael's recklessness makes a complete mess of the warehouse while jeopardizing the employees' safety. Michael's plans to hold his own seminar backfire when the warehouse workers decide to form a union. Jan intimidates them into reconsidering, citing mass firings if it were to occur. Jan urges Pam to take a corporate training program in graphic design in New York when Pam reveals that she wants to be a graphic designer, but Roy squashes the idea. Jim rebukes Pam for listening to Roy when he is clearly wrong and acting selfish, which creates tension between them. Pam then tells the camera she is happy with her life now, and that they don't even make her dream house in Scranton. She then breaks down and cries in front of the camera. As the day comes to a close, Michael leaves the warehouse in complete disarray.

Jeff sets out to fix his relationship with Britta after things get awkward with a drunken phone call. Meanwhile, Annie and Shirley make plans to humiliate Senor Chang in order to defend Troy and Pierce's dignity.

Basking in the adulation from his latest movie premiere, Hollywood "It" actor Vince Chase joins childhood pals Eric, Drama, and Turtle to debate the pros and cons of attending their tenth high-school reunion back east. Ari enthusiastically pitches the screenplay for "Matterhorn" to Vince and Eric who pass on the offer.

Gloria's ex-husband, Javier (Benjamin Bratt) introduces his new fiancee, Trish (Paget Brewster) to the family. Trish and Manny form a close bond and Gloria is worried about being replaced. However, when Javier proposes to Trish, but cannot get the engagement ring on her finger she runs upstairs. Trish fears that she cannot live up to Gloria, at which point Gloria welcomes Trish to the family, now secure and no longer worried about the competition for Manny's affection. Claire and Cam are struggling to sell their fliphouse after turning down an offer from Gil (Rob Riggle). Haley uses social network profiles to research a friend of Luke's, Zach (Anders Holm), in order to stage the house to his likes. At the house inspection Cam mentions Zach's dog name, Otis, and Zach freaks out at how personal the house has been staged and leaves. Gil comes to gloat, but Cam and Mitchell pretend to be interested in the property and Gil is willing to renegotiate for his buyer.

The gang find themselves at yet another wedding, this time the nuptials of Derrick (Stephen Guarino) and Eric (Nate Smith). Will there be "DRAMA", to quote Derrick? Of course, as Brad struggles to tell Jane something important; Jane tries to find a way to help Eric hide the fact that the pricey reception must be downscaled; and Max tries to find the courage to perform with his old all-male Madonna cover band. Meanwhile, a dateless Penny is sad that she's at another wedding alone, until she meets a cute guy (Brian Austin Green) via Skype.

The Simpson family agrees to go to a rib restaurant, and after arriving, they discover Sideshow Bob attempts to murder the entire family. When Bob is captured by the police, he is put on trial, where Bart throws away his vial of medicine, inadvertently killing him. Bob's brother Cecil invites Bart to pay his last respects to Sideshow Bob. Although Bart doesn't know it, it turns out to be an elaborate plot devised by Bob's entire family to murder Bart instead.

Sue's Nazi-hunting mother Doris Sylvester pays her a visit due to her upcoming wedding to herself, Finn and Kurt face the marriage of their parents, and the administration takes a stand against Karofsky which leads to Kurt leaving McKinley High.

Ryan's stubborn refusal to take Wilfred's simple advice into consideration on a sensitive matter leads to the rapid development of a massive problem that goes on to not only affect himself but his wise and furry companion as well. In the episode Ryan is taken by Dwight on what he believes is a sales call, but instead is brought to Dwight's beet farm for an "initiation". Pam is supposed to keep track of Michael's productivity, but Michael spends his day waiting in line for a pretzel. Jim steals Karen's chair and foils her attempts to get it back.

The study group takes a wild balloon ride that crash lands in the woods and they end up spending some quality time together with a friendly mountain man. The cast are animated with puppets.

In this 'It's a Wonderful Life' themed episode, Jimmy is transported into a cinematic dreamlike state and watches on at a world where he never met Lucy. When he returns to reality he realizes that if Hope had never been born, his life wouldn't be as good. Meanwhile, Virginia, Burt and Maw Maw see a movie that bares a striking resemblance to their day-to-day lives.

Steve tries to cheer up Snot after Hayley rejects him -- and is shocked when Roger poses as a teenage girl named Jenny Fromdabloc and begins dating Snot. Meanwhile, Stan tries to live like a man of the 1960s by making Francine serve him martinis after work, despite that Stan can't hold his liquor.

Jack's torn between Avery and Nancy. Liz is reduced to attending YMCA singles events. Toofer is appalled when Tracy tells him his writing job at TGS is affirmative action.

As Turtle begins his first day at college, Eric manages to fix things with Ashley, who then finds out that he hasn't been forthcoming. Jamie-Lynn films her appearance on Five Towns with Drama, who suspects that his boss has other things in mind for her. Ari gets out of the doghouse at home, only to be surprised by an agency visit from Andrew's wife, and Ari is ready to get rid of the problem entirely.

Dr. Taylor Maddox joins Sacred Heart as new chief of medicine and Dr. Cox tries to avoid her. J.D. struggles to manage new interns. Carla helps Elliot put her ego in check and Elliot apologizes to Keith for their break-up. The Janitor is caught tormenting J.D. by Maddox and is fired.

Laurel's father, police detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante. Meanwhile, Oliver's mother is revealed to have an agenda against her son, having orchestrated a kidnapping to determine what his father told him after the shipwreck.

Eric's vindictive side shows when he and Melinda crash Sloan's date, and then Sloan gives Eric news that she is pregnant.

Cleveland Jr. is in need of a job, and after failed interviews with a slaughterhouse and a obsolescent newspaper company, it is revealed he is proficient with cleaning up after the customers in the local bar, The Stool. He is given a job of a bar tender, as well as helps the bar owner with improving his business and making drastic changes to the bar's atmosphere. Cleveland finds that the changes of the bar negatively affects him and his friends, so he proceeds to get Cleveland Jr. fired from the bar for being too young to work in. His son is quick to find that it was his father who made the call, and begins gaslighting as an act of revenge he sabotages his clothes, replaces the beers with nonalcoholic substitutes, and shaves his father's mustache. In the end, Cleveland is impressed by his son's schemes, and both forgive each other. Meanwhile, Roberta is feuding with Lacey, a wealthy rival. In order to become more popular than Lacey, Roberta enlists the aid of Rallo to pose as an adopted child.

While Dwight settles for a job at Staples, Andy tests the last nerve of his coworkers, particularly Michael and new deskmate Jim, to whom he shows off his cell phone ringtone that he sang himself. Michael welcomes Oscar back to the office by asking the Party Planning Committee to throw a Mexican-themed fiesta. Jim tries to enlist Karen's help in pulling a prank on Andy, but she is busy with Dwight's former clients. Pam, however, is a ready accomplice. With her help, Jim hides Andy's cell phone in the ceiling above Andy's desk. Michael's rejection of Andy's friendship, combined with Pam and Jim's prank of continually calling his "lost" phone, pushes Andy over the edge, and he punches a hole in the wall in frustration. This-combined with learning from a depressed Angela that Dwight went to Corporate to deliver an important document-causes Michael to realize that he made a mistake in forcing Dwight to resign, and he goes to Staples to get him back. At the party, Karen confronts Jim, asking him if he still has feelings for Pam. After several seconds of silence, Jim quietly answers, "Yes." Karen gets up and walks out, visibly upset.

Jack enlists a rap producer to unload his line of inferior champagne while Tracy reluctantly hosts the Source Awards. Liz tries to sever ties with a black man she dislikes without looking racist. Ghostface Killah cameos as himself.

Cheryl leaves Larry and their mutual friends have to choose sides, with Cheryl being chosen by nearly all of Larry's friends. Larry goes on a date with Lucy Lawless.
