In the episode, Michael brings the office on a booze cruise and plans on doing some "motivational" speaking. After he learns that the captain of the boat has other plans, a power struggle emerges. Meanwhile, Pam and Roy's previously stagnant relationship blossoms, while Jim and Katy's begins to falter.

Bob becomes obsessed with an old-school burger-flipping video game after Jimmy Pesto gets the high score and writes "BOB SUX" on the leader board.

Doug is deeply disturbed when he discovers that Carrie has been purchasing his clothes at the Big and Tall shop. He asks Carrie her true feelings about his weight, and although she doesn't want to hurt his feelings, she admits that she wouldn't be upset if he lost some weight. Since they are being honest with each other, Doug tells Carrie that she wears too much make-up. They both agree to work on their flaws and make some changes. Doug starts working out at the gym, and Carrie eases up on the make-up application. When Carrie gets compliments the next day at work about how great she looks, Doug is jealous and starts naming other flaws that Carrie should work on. He tells her she has a big forehead and a terrible accent, but feels bad when his nit-picking makes her self-conscious. Meanwhile, Arthur has started carrying around a legless "Safety Man" to protect himself from neighborhood thugs.

D'Angelo confronts Avon about the bad package and washes his hands of the business. Avon brokers a deal to give up the prison officer for a reduction in his sentence. Valchek specifically requests Lieutenant Daniels for the Sobotka investigation. Daniels negotiates with Burrell and secures the promise of his own major crimes unit after the Sobotka investigation ends. Sobotka chastises his son and nephew about their unauthorized smuggling deal with the Greeks; he defends his own illicit deals as a means toward regenerating the ailing dockyard. Ziggy continues to enjoy his new-found wealth. McNulty takes a personal interest in the murdered women and is pressured to find Omar for Bunk Moreland.

Peter knocks out Quahog's cable transmitter while driving Meg home. Distraught, Peter resolves to steal the transmitter so he can have television in his house and convinces Meg to take the blame for the outage. The device is stolen by Stewie, who intends to use it to control the weather. Peter attaches a cardboard cutout in front of his face to pretend that the world is a television program. Meg, tired of public scorn, reveals the truth behind the cable outage; the citizens of Quahog threaten Peter with violence, but he is saved by Lois. Peter takes his family on recreational outings, but the family grows tired of the constant physical activity, prompting Peter to go on the outings with William Shatner. After the weather machine creates a huge rainstorm, Meg and Lois drive around searching for Peter, and Meg runs over Shatner and Peter; Peter is hospitalized. Peter watches television while he recovers, and becomes addicted to it once again.

Logan wants Kimmy to stop talking to Dong and tries to have him deported. Kimmy finds out, breaks up with Logan, and begins dating Dong. Meanwhile, Titus is overlooked for a new role at the restaurant because he can't "play straight." As a result, he seeks out help from a "straight coach," M. La Loup (Dean Norris).

The newly merged creative team brainstorms how they will market margarine, for Fleischmann's. Don, who is trysting with Sylvia, shows up late, as the meeting wraps, and Ted Chaough chastises him. As a peace offering, Don shares drinks with Ted, but the latter ends up visibly drunk, earning Don Peggy's ire. Don, playing a dominant sex role, sequesters Sylvia in a hotel room, keeps her in the dark about when he'll return, and has delivered to her a red spaghetti strapped dress from Saks Fifth Avenue. He takes the book she is reading with him to read on his flight to Buffalo. After a dream wherein Don dies in a plane crash, and Sylvia attends his funeral and must comfort Megan, Sylvia ends her and Don's affair. Joan falls ill, and Bob Benson discreetly escorts her to the hospital and secures expedited treatment. Roger fires Benson's supervisor, Burt Peterson (for a second time), but Joan saves Benson's job. Robert F. Kennedy is assassinated on the wedding day of Roger Sterling's daughter, Margaret.

The Gerhardt clan is wiped out except for one survivor in prison, permanently ending their crime dynasty. Hanzee chases Ed and Peggy as Lou pursues Hanzee to end the madness. Hanzee shoots and wounds Ed as he and Peggy flee down an alley. The pair take shelter in a supermarket, hiding in the meat locker. While holed up inside, Ed confides to Peggy that he does not think they will make it as a couple, upsetting her. He then succumbs to blood loss, causing Peggy to mentally break down and hallucinate that Hanzee has lit the supermarket on fire in an attempt to smoke them out, similar to a scene from the Ronald Reagan film she was watching earlier while holding Dodd Gerhardt hostage. Hanzee, however, has fled. Lou, aided by Ben Schmit, arrives and subdues and arrests Peggy. While driving her back to Minnesota to be prosecuted, the two converse about life and death, with Peggy finally accepting her fate. At a park, Hanzee meets with a confidant who provides him a new identity, Moses Tripoli (the mob boss from Fargo in season 1 that Lorne Malvo killed). Hanzee states that he intends to have plastic surgery, maybe start his own crime empire, and seek revenge on those that wronged him. (The two boys playing catch in the park, one who is deaf, are younger depictions of Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench). Mike Milligan claims responsibility for wiping out the Gerhardt family, and his supervisors immediately promote him, only for him to discover that the higher-ups work menial administrative jobs. Meanwhile, Betsy has recuperated from the side-effects of the experimental cancer drug she was taking. When Lou returns home, he, Betsy, and a recovered Hank gather as a family. No one can explain the mysterious UFO seen at that shootout. Betsy then asks Hank about the strange symbols in his home office, and he explains he was attempting to create a universal pictorial language to promote better global cooperation and understanding. The three ponder what the future holds for each of them and for the family.

Arthur and his half-brother Skitch are reunited when Doug arranges for them to meet again after being estranged for many years. They meet at the tollbooth where Skitch works. When Doug discovers that the two brothers own a house together, he is excited at the thought of getting his life, and his basement back by suggestion that Arthur move in with Skitch. Arthur goes with the idea and moves in with his brother, but the plan quickly falls apart when Arthur and Skitch are reminded that they can't stand each other.

While Doug is taking a driving test, he runs into Ray Barone (Ray Romano). Ray seems to have trouble with a few of the questions, and asks Doug for the answers. Doug is caught by the instructor, and loses his license. Ray makes it up to Doug by taking him to a New York Jets football game. Ray's brother Robert (Brad Garrett) goes with them. After the game, Ray lets Doug drive, and Robert finds out that Doug does not have a license. Robert, being a cop, tells Doug to pull over. With no license and suspended from his delivery job, Doug tries to help Carrie study by playing with Arthur. Finally, Doug passes his drivers test only to have met Ray's father (Frank)(Peter Boyle) who happens to crash into Doug's car outside the DMV.

Barney, Marshall, and Lily get Ted to drink shots. The next day, he wakes up with no memory of that night's events, an unknown woman in his bed, and a pineapple on his nightstand.

Barney and Robin find themselves in an uncomfortable situation when they hide a secret from their partners. Lily attends a concert with Marshall and Ted.

Intro: The Simpsons (all dressed as characters from previous Treehouse of Horror episodes, save Lisa, who is an axe murder victim) watch Kang and Kodos's lame attempt at a Halloween variety show. I Know What You Diddily-Iddily Did - Marge accidentally runs over Ned Flanders and is haunted by claims that someone knows what she did, only to realize that Ned survived because he became a werewolf. Desperately Xeeking Xena - Bart and Lisa gain super powers after a freak accident at school and must save Lucy Lawless (dressed as Xena) from the Collector (Comic Book Guy). Life's A Glitch, Then You Die - When the Y2K bug causes everything electronic and computer generated in the world to go haywire, the family searches for a way out.

The Real Gilligan's Island was a reality television series that aired two seasons on TBS in 2004 and 2005. Contestants on the show were required to participate in challenges based on plots from the 1960s television show.
